I'm praying for President Trump. While I don't know if he's a Christian, the Word of God will not return void when declared out loud. It's a blessing to hear him share / read about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

From what he has said on several occasions I doubt he has actually read the Bible from cover to cover but good on him for speaking the word of the Lord which he has shown he is not afraid to do.

Sadly he could speak word from word from the Bible and some liberals would be against it just because Trump said it. Sad times

He is certainly not "the most religious".

Since you are a Bible scholar could you break down Leciticus and Numbers for me, since I'm only an 87% Christian and didn't read those books.

You don't know this. Getting older coupled with at least one close brush with death has a way of making a person change inside. I don't pretend to know Trump's heart when it comes to spiritual matters, but he has a lot of strong Christians surrounding him and I'm sure giving him wise counsel. I pray that God will use them to lead him to Christ if that has not already happened. He certainly seems to be embracing the message.

Posters seem to give Trump way more of the benefit of the doubt on his faith than other politicians.

He may become a believer one day and I hope he does. But for now, he doesn't really profess to be one and certainly doesn't walk the walk.

Despite the fact that "we aren't voting for a Pope" or "I care about his ability, not his personal morality" narrative, I think a lot of posters are just more comfortable with the idea of "their guy" being a big Christian.

According to Romans 13:1, government is a God ordained institution.

I know that Robert Jeffress from First Baptist Dallas has spent a good deal of time with President Trump. I am beyond confident that Dr. Jeffress has clearly communicated, Billy Graham style, the gospel message to him.

After being with Dr. Jeffress, there is zero chance Trump's understanding of the matter is not crystal clear. I have had a hope that Trump has accepted Jesus as his savior so I have the tendency to listen when he starts speaking on the subject. That Easter message sure makes it sound like he has become a believer. You also have to think he has to be somewhat neutral with his word choices as he is also communicating to citizens that may be unbelievers.
