Local news is reporting that University officials issued an alert of an active shooter near the Student Union at 12:01pm local time.

Praying that this is just something they're blowing out of proportion.

There are no feeds on Broadcastify from the county where FSU is, so no way to listen to what is happening.

Right now the local media says 4 people injured. Social media of course is all over the place, with of course a ton of the usual crap of "someone do something" and blaming Trump, Republicans, the NRA, gun, DeSantis, etc.

Hospital reporting they've received injured. Earlier reports said there were four people taken to the hospital but hospital is not confirming that number. No word on fatalities or suspects other than someone says they saw a college-aged male with a handgun leave the building.

I'd say the same thing about almost all of the major universities in Florida. UF, FSU, USF are all in not great parts of their respective towns; a student that would be quite safe on one of those campuses would be foolish to set foot of it.

They can do that anyways. This is to show they are not immediate threats to responding LE who are entering an extremely chaotic event and have no clue who is who and what is going on really.

If the person seen in some images that are circulating online being arrested is the shooter, then its a white dude.

Per Tallahassee.com, US Marshals are assisting on scene. Students still being led out of the Union. Apparently it was packed. Shooting happened right at 12pm when the building would be full.

Teams likely going door to door to clear locked down areas. Students in the surrounding area are being told to move back to make room for more evacuated people because there are still a lot of people inside.

Good lord.

Officer safety is first and foremost. They have to get the building evacuated.

Also, you're assuming that the shooter wants to just go in, pop a couple of people, and then escape without ever being identified. That's never the case in a real mass shooting - they want to kill as many people as possible and be famous for it. They're not gonna just put their hands up and get in line with dozens of potential victims.
