Is that supposed to be a gotcha? He has repeatedly said it should be decided at the state level. That means one of two things:
1) he knows it isn't a political winner, so not going to put a pro life position out there that will cost him votes
2) he is pro choice, but knows that won't work with his base
Either way, he isn't taking a stand on this issue.
So why did he publicly support the federal bill the house passed in his first term to limit abortions after 20 weeks? He has flip flopped on abortion a number of times throughout the last 25 years to meet what he thinks will advance him the most. Same with EVs where he said he was pro EVs in a 2020 debate with Biden then saying EVs are a hoax in 2023 to promoting them on the White House entrance. Same with crypto support.
In other words, he will take whatever position he thinks is politically expedient and or fills his campaign coffers just like any politician.
PS. Harris is worse than Trump on doing that and would have been a way worse President I just think the people who say Trump doesn't flip flop are ignoring reality.
Trump may be like every other politician before him, but he "owns the libs," and that's what gives him the credit he needs to keep his base fully supportive of every decision he ever makes, a la "Okay, but he's still waaay better than anyone on the left,", even if it bites them in the ass.
If that isn't loyalty to a fault, I don't know what is.
P.S. And, yes, there are just as many idiots on the left with whomever their guy is.
There are in fact two things, science and opinion; the former begets knowledge, the later ignorance. Hippocrates
