I took my daughter to see it tonight. Flame away but it was a chance to spend some time with her and there is ZERO else out right now. Couple observations.
There were maybe 10 other people in the theater. Four families total.
It was terrible. Granted I had been up since 5:00 this morning but I power napped through the queen singing her first song because it was so bad.
All the songs except the main two from the original are forced and terrible. My daughter actually groaned when they would start singing again.
I didn't get a big "girl power" vibe from the movie. More like the "prince" role was just such a beta.
That was the most diverse cast I've ever seen in my life. LOL
Disney/Pixar films always had great jokes for the kids that adults could always laugh at too for their hidden meanings. I immediately think of Buzz Lightyear's wings going up when he sees the female. There was nothing funny like that in this and most of the jokes didn't land. I'd actually go "Oh, that was a joke" about two seconds later.
The whole thing felt like it had the quality of a straight to DVD film. The costumes seemed ridiculous as well as the special effects. Cheap and not even trying. It was terrible overall but more because of the casting and poor writing, not forcing a woke agenda.

They tried so hard to appease every sub-agenda, then they tried a year long redo to fix it. But at that point their way over budget and some of the bad decisions are just too thoroughly baked into the cake they have to press on. Now their left using good money to market what is just overall bad.
A story that doesn't flow, bad casting that doesn't fit the underlying story (the queen is far more beautiful than the protagonist), bad graphics that don't match anything, and the list goes on.
Finally, they've just pushed off everyone! The Disney purists are mad. The little people that didn't get jobs are mad. They tried to un-woke parts so there's a group that's upset. You're saying even your daughter didn't enjoy the film!

So glad my own daughter is 19 now and has many years between her last expressed interest in any Disney films such as this. Had this been released in 2013, I've no doubt that I'd have taken her to see this movie. But now, with her interest in anime or movies featuring people being hacked up or haunted or what-have-you, I get to skip this movie.

Kids are simple creatures and just want simple stuff. I haven't watched the movie, but if you make a complicated movie with an adult agenda like wokism or civil rights, and try to push it on kids, they will not enjoy it.
Girls just want to see a princess, a prince, a castle, a nice carriage, nice Cinderella slippers.
Boys want to see fast cars and explosions (not even hot girls at that age).

A 50% drop is average in this era. 60% is bad. 77% is just wow.

Weren't those characters initially Snow White's magical creatures it whatever they went back and replaced with the CHI dwarves? Would make the line little dude the token reference to the original film.
This is one of the better reviews (as in entertaining and her whole way of talking about it is funny and cute) and also good in that it does summarize the movie with actual content quotes and reference. She very much demonstrate that it was woke and openly pushing socialist even communist takes. (She points them out)

For some reason I find this whole thing mesmerizing, it's like a train wreck I can't keep from watching. Not sure if it's from the woke backlash, seeing Disney get their comeuppance, or the meltdown of the narcissistic twit actress who deserves to have a similar career trajectory to the Bud Light marketing genius. I hope Frio is incorrect, the only way this could get worse is to see her on screen again without any clothes.
Regardless, Disney had the chance to make hundreds of millions and even billions if they just updated the original script and chose to make a great movie with a gracious, beautiful actress and left the woke BS out. From the amount of content on social media by folks on the right, I'm wondering what the percentage of tickets sold in this country were by folks on the right, because the movie seemed destined to fail already (it's no Wicked and it came out in a dead month of March), so it doesn't seem like it needed too much help by the anti-woke people going after it, or giving it any money by buying tickets to see it to report back why people shouldn't see it.
