I got infected in Cypress prior to the lockdowns.

Instead, we closed daycares and forced children to performatively wear masks when they were re-opened for several years, when there was essentially no reason to.
The fact that the CDC recommended vaccines for anyone under the age of 30 without leukemia is criminal, and flies in the face of the Hippocratic oath.

There is no defense of the COVIDITES because of this. That recommendation was absolutely 100% political and directly ignored the data and science. COVIDITIES were part of a pseudo-Marxist religion.

It even said on the box of the face-diapers that they did not help prevent the spread of COVID19, yet we still had to wear them.

Again, performative.

In California - during our 3+ years of Covid, I called them "Compliance Masks" because that's all they were.

A visual representation that you were on the team. Team - I'm a moron and I hate Trump.

I will NEVER forgive what happened during that time period - and we know who did it and why.

Correct. Sweden also has higher taxes, a serious gang violence issue, and concerns about Russia.
Cool. Now do South Dakota who never locked down either.

Remember how holding the Sturgis motorcycle rally in August 2020 was portrayed as a "Super Spreader" event?

I agree with you but hindsight can be 20/20.

I've never said the response was the best decision.
Yeah - not responding as criticism to you - just pointing out that there were some of us at that point already asking if universal lockdowns had value or whether they should instead be local conditions based.

As to the Cypress comment… why would any of us be surprised with illness in a Petri dish that is Houston? But seriously - if a virus was already slipping in globally it was never going to be stopped and a slow down was merely a delay unless you were trying to balance the portion of infected population.

What am I supposed to do with South Dakota? Mistakes were clearly made but the 15-day lockdown seemed reasonable at the time by most people. I don't think it was malicious but to each their own. And August was well-beyond the initial 15 days.

Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence.

In California where I lived during the "two weeks to stop the spread", don't worry, it was definitely malice.

Once we gave all power over our lives to the public health officials, they couldn't get enough. Well beyond the two weeks.

The good news though is, I haven't been vax carded since April 2022.

And thank God for the Federal Judge who ended masks on planes but don't worry, Los Angeles continued to require masks in airports for 6 more months - just because. They couldn't get enough of that control.

If the 15 day lockdowns had been it, I think most people would have been fine with it.

Instead, it turned into 15 weeks, then 15 months, an even longer in many places.

It became mask mandates for years.

It became stand 6 feet apart for no reason other than someone pulled the number out of their ass.

People died alone because their families were not allowed to see them.

Schools and daycares were closed for over a year in many places when kids were never suspectable to the virus. The few kids that were, due to severe underlying heath issues, could have stayed home.

People were arrested for surfing alone, or sitting on a beach by themselves, even though outdoor spread was non-existent.

Corona-Karens drove around towns looking for people to call the police on because they might be sitting outside their home, or kids were playing outside and they might be with the neighbor's kids.

Parks were closed and people were told to stay indoors, which is not healthy and weakens the immune system over time.

People were killed by the state when it forced hospitals to put everyone on ventilators when that was not necessary and should have been the option of last resort. Then that same state, along with others, sent people with the virus into nursing homes, where the most vulnerable to the virus resided.

****************************

As I said in March of 2020.

In all of American history there have been two events which left such a deep psychological scar on the nation that it did not heal until almost everyone who experienced it had passed away.

The first was the Civil War.

The second was the Great Depression.

I said in March 2020 that this would be the third, and not because of the virus itself. It would be due to the response to the virus by the government, and people in general.

We still have people wearing masks, taking every shot of Pfizer poison they can get, and some who are still living in virtual lockdown. When they do go out, they mask up, put on a face shield, and wear gloves. On occasion you'll still see someone going full hazmat suit.

How many people died because of the hyper overreaction?

People no longer trust doctors, real vaccines, real medications, or even each other. Everything is now seen as a conspiracy, or that others have some nefarious motive, perhaps are even out to get you.

Not one person alive today will see a country that has fully healed from the wounds that were inflicted upon it over a virus which was never was it was portrayed to be.

****************************

Fauchi, Brix, and every other person involved with this virus, including those who funded the research in Wuhan, and those who are directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of people should be facing a trial for crimes against humanity.

Upon conviction, they should suffer the same fate of those convicted at Nuremberg.

China should be nuked from orbit.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

"Mistakes were made?" How about the incessant stream of lies that were crammed down our throats from the very beginning? Or the heavy hand of government being used to stamp out anyone who dared question the obvious lies? Lies that anyone with an ounce of intelligence should have been able to see. And nobody was ever held accountable so what's to stop this from happening again?

And no, the 15 day lockdown was NEVER reasonable. At most, public officials should have put out a warning and make recommendations…in stark contrast to govt force. This one idiotic govt decree cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars and nearly ruined my thriving business. It never recovered.

I hold the utmost disdain for all of those involved in perpetuating this. And now, five years later in the aftermath of it all, there are no reassurances that something similar will not happen again.

I laughed so hard at that...I remember giggling uncontrollably in public because I realized how crazy it was, and yet everyone was still doing it.

I just kept thinking "are we doing this? Are we really doing this?"

That was right around the time when I just quit wearing a mask; because I decided it was better to be hated by a group of idiots, than it was to actually be an idiot.

ETA: There were repercussions for that though. I was treated like crap on several occasions, and had to maintain my cool which led to allot of internalized anger & bitterness. Thinking I'm the only sane person in the room always made me question if maybe I was the crazy person...and I wasn't. I was also fortunate to not have a job that required the vax, because I refused that out of spite.

Never forget walking through the neighborhood on trash day and seeing recycling bins slam full of emptys.

Talked to a driver for AB during covid who said they couldn't keep the shelves stocked and delivery volume was like July 4th every weekend.

How many people started drinking during covid, relapsed during covid or became alcohol dependent during covid?

Never forget the surge in domestic violence attributable to Covid lockdowns.

Talked to a sheriff's deputy around this time 5-years ago who said they were getting calls all the time, M - F and usually alcohol related due to people staying at home, getting hammered and raging at numbers typically seen on weekends.

Yes, once they boldly declared "there's no evidence of the spread of Covid during peaceful protests" I knew the jig was absolutely up.

But in some ways, I found the lockdowns fascinating. We got to see real time how crazy, belligerent societies can form almost overnight.

15 days to stop the spread was absolutely reasonable at the time.

What was unreasonable was:
1) The unwillingness of anyone on earth to stick to that original idea.
2) The willingness of the masses to believe the *******s in charge when they promised only 15 days.

The result of those two things ultimately led to Joe Rogan founding a comedy club in Texas that is named after the fact that, based on everything the *******s in charge are willing to lie to us about, there might, in fact, be aliens among us.

At least America is not dumb enough to continue to roll over 5 years later, like Europe apparently is. Faith in institutions in the US is in the absolute gutter because of this, more than anything.

It was an ugly period for our country, and the rest of the world, in fact. But, I feel like most of the U.S. actually learned something from it, at least.

It was completely irrational, unconstitutional, and illogical to shut down and give politicians that much control over our lives. You never shut down an entire economy; doing so has dire consequences, some of which we're feeling now. We've lost rights that will never return. People need to remember what happened and how stupid it was to allow our rights to be taken by the idiots in charge.

The real bite is on its face, with the supposed magnitude of threat, and given the complete failure of the Brennan era intelligence agencies to have any value clarifying the nature of the virus -- a genuine pause looked like a viable reaction to a possible bio-weapon. The real fatal thing became the Fauci "another two weeks" --- all policy should have mandatory sunset times. If you want it to continue, you re-vote on it. Not do the equivalent of "unless you cancel it, it auto charges you" of many sketchy deals.

"15 days to stop the spread" --- if literal -- and then all re-opened -- would that have as lasting in damage. It seems less likely.

The main cause is the complete and continuing lack of draconian consequences for official lying. If you could be reasonably sure what was said was true, this greatly impacts how you react.
