One of the dumbest decisions in US history. I pray none of our future leaders are stupid enough to repeat this mistake.

President Donald Trump and former President Joe Biden sharply increased government spending. Trump's $2.2 trillion "stimulus" package, followed by Biden's $1.9 trillion American "Rescue" Plan. The only thing they did was stimulate inflation which we're still feeling today. We're perilously close to a massive economic meltdown that will rival the Great Depression.

Why did the FDA break protocol to approve vaccines that have now been shown to have significant issues, but not allow COVID testing kits not to be approved? The emergency approvals should have been reversed, but "Follow the Science."

The CDC's 6-foot rule was arbitrary and ineffective, but "Follow the Science."

Wear a mask to prevent covid transfer, but it's not able to completely block the transmission of virus droplets/aerosols. Hey, "Follow the Science."

Whitmer says let's ban motorboats and jet skis, but not ban kayaks and canoes. Makes total sense, right?

My loved one is dying and I can't say goodbye to them, but "you might give them COVID, so you can't hug them one last time."

Have politicians apologized and begged forgiveness for their arrogance, for destroying jobs, restricting our freedom, and needlessly pushing us around? No.

And the forum of disinformation still sits south of this one.

Biggest scam in human history.

The flatten the curve stuff was dumb but thankfully Trump was able to get ys the vaccine at warp speed.

15 days to stop the spread ushered in one of the darkest periods of our history in my lifetime. The economy was humming up to that point and Trump was cruising to a second term. After 15 days, the last ten months of the first Trump administration was racked with poor decisionmaking, mainly because Trump allowed politics force him into believing and listening to some incredibly bad, biased, politicized advice from the left wing bureaucrats in his administration, and they were all-in to get him beat by any means necessary.

All that led to Biden taking the election and being subjected to four years of tyranny and rule by the unelected bureacracy. They did everything, including censorship, to complete Obama's fundamental transformation and take this country down a dark path.

Thankfully, what was intended for our harm actually ended up working agianst the left and for our good, the tide turned, and Trump won 2024 with a massive change mandate. Now he is doing things he never could have done if he had won in 2020.

The Democrats may have won the battle with 15 days to stop the spread, but if Trump can enact everything he promised over the next four years, it will ultimately be what caused them to lose the war.

Misinformation, fear mongering while denigrating alternative cures by the mouthpieces that got filthy rich off the mRNA vaccine. Absolutely criminal.

This is what we need...

Elections are when people find out what politicians stand for, and politicians find out what people will fall for.

I don't think it was calculated and malicious initially until Fauci and others saw they could take advantage of Trump. Remember Tucker met with him in early March at Mar-a-Lago and told him, "the coronavirus was an existential threat to the nation," and "People you know will get sick. Some may die. This is real." Trump's tone abouf COVID changed after that.

It was 100% calculated and malicious initially and continued to be calculated and malicious as time went on. We were funding this since day 1. Then it got completely sinister when the vaccine companies could make billions

I wouldn't call a lab leak malicious. I would say are funding of the Wuhan lab is definitely calculated.

You have to remember many of the Fox personalities like Hannity were dismissive of it and Tucker was hyper doomsday about it on air, so you're saying Tucker was a part of this calculated plan.

15 days to stop the spread was absolutely reasonable at the time.

What was unreasonable was:
1) The unwillingness of anyone on earth to stick to that original idea.
2) The willingness of the masses to believe the *******s in charge when they promised only 15 days.

The result of those two things ultimately led to Joe Rogan founding a comedy club in Texas that is named after the fact that, based on everything the *******s in charge are willing to lie to us about, there might, in fact, be aliens among us.

At least America is not dumb enough to continue to roll over 5 years later, like Europe apparently is. Faith in institutions in the US is in the absolute gutter because of this, more than anything.

It was an ugly period for our country, and the rest of the world, in fact. But, I feel like most of the U.S. actually learned something from it, at least.

The absolute key and biggest thing was securing mail in voting for 2020 elections. This let the D's cheat and win the presidency. R's were totally unprepared to fight that. In 14, the R's had people ready to fight it and it didn't happen. Obviously shutting down the economy was huge too, but the mail in voting thing was the foundation.

When Fauci could make billions it was sinister!! This was the single greatest conflict of interest ever.

Once the dems are in full power again they'll do something akin to this. It's in their nature and they loved how effective it was.

Instead of demanding answers on root cause of lab leak, for 5 years Americans fought each other over masks and vaccines. China released a bioweapon, flew a spy balloon across US, and are now toying us with drones. Zero consequences so far. Maybe Trump 2.0 makes them pay.

When Pelosi ripped up Trump's speech at the State of the Union I remember feeling she knew something. Boy did she because a few weeks later it all blew up. As terrible as it all was, it was a brilliant strategy. Kept Biden in the basement. Devastated the thriving economy and made millions dependent on government handouts. Led to hard to verify mail in ballots. Gave BLM the spotlight to divide the people. Really from the left point of view it was genius and wonderful. Until the election in 2024.

You mean, the people that saw the power grab for what it was and turned out to be the only rational people during that era? You are still doubling down on the calling those people not team players when after the fact it was proven that they were the only ones actually looking out for other people.

Nevermind, I think I misread it and you might be referring to the people initially advocating for 15 days and not opening back up on day 16. Carry on .

This is probably the best take. We had no idea what was going on at this point in the COVID world and it appeared to be killing everyone. After 15 days, we should have had enough data to help us limit exposure to those in dangerous demographics and then moved on.

All last week NPR was doing a daily story about the 5 year anniversary of Covid lockdowns. They were giddy every time lockdowns were mentioned. I'm not exaggerating. They were reminiscing about the good old days of Covid. The Left/Dems will always look back fondly at that horrible time.

I still hold it was ******ed to lock down in Junction TX for an initial virus detection in NYC. If it was warranted it was only for travelers and cities with detections.

We had the data from italy at the time and anyone who was bothered enough to turn off the TV and look at it could see that it was not good if you were >60 years old and the IFR was about on par with influenza.

That held true the entire time.

Instead, we closed daycares and forced children to performatively wear masks when they were re-opened for several years, when there was essentially no reason to.

Good for them. Really. They were to the world like Florida was to the U.S.

Never forget that the only reason any of us on here even know the name DeSantis is because he gave the establishment a giant middle finger with regards to COVID.

Sweden's immigration policy, though? Not a fan.
