Yes - Sharp and Welsh. This is the third time the BOR has told them to get off their collective assess and get this done. They finally had to pass a resolution because they wouldn't do it.

After reading the resolution, the pictures above would likely be allowed. Rocky Horror would likely not be allowed.

I know the Rocky Horror Picture Show has been performed many times on campus over the years. Would that be included as part of this ban?
The "on campus" part has me confused. I remember it being shown at the movie theatre across Wellborn. I think it is Shadow Canyon now.
The stage shadow cast show has been performed by students at least at The Grove, the old MSC, and at the Rec Center. Not sure about recent years.

Someday , no one will get that reference.
Today is not that day.
I always thought it was, "Where the men are men and the sheep are scared." Just trying to insert a little levity.

I'll wear the dreaded title of "CM" on this one, but true drag is just bawdy entertainment………….for adults. I really don't care if some actors do a show in Rudder Auditorium………for adults. Rudder himself may well have watched such entertainment during the war or in the army.

Where do you draw the line? How about a show with live sex acts?
Two people starred that? Live sex shows would violate a million state, county, city, university……..laws. Pretty easy line to draw.
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

There is a huge difference in drag as it is defined today, which are nearly always overly sexual shows, and something like Victor/Victoria, or a stage version of Mrs. Doubtfire.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Someone said Rudder may have seen drag shows.

Drag shows 60+ years ago were comedy, not sexualization

Back when it would get you a Section 8.

If so, then why in the heck?????

Quote:

Way back in Old Army, the week leading up to Bonfire/ the t.u. game, fish were told to "feminize" by wearing lipstick and skipping to class. This was done to bring "awareness" to the rivalry game, with the general notion being that the sips were "sissies" compared to the rough tough Ags. This tradition, like most Old Army traditions, didn't survive the fish living by themselves in the late 40s to mid 50s, and was *thankfully* abolished in 1953. Fair warning, these pictures could be considered disturbing.

Quote:

This picture is dated to the 1930s in the Cushing Archives, so it's possible that "feminizing" the fish was taken to an even greater extent in even older Army. Note the possible cadet in the background wearing a dress.
From the reddit thread. Making fish dress in drag so they can mock them like those sissy t-sips.

I'll allow it.

That's a case that involved high schools. Colleges have much more freedom because the students are adults.

Just passed in a special telephonic Meeting that TAMU will not allow for these types of shows. Also states that there are only 2 genders and that TAMU System will follow the policies of Trump EO's and directive from Gov Abbott. Basically states that these drag shows go against Title 9 and is discriminatory towards women.

Unanimous Yes Votes

They can have it off campus if they want. No one's stopping them.

There's a ton of things they can have off campus that "conservatives" would have a complete meltdown over if they where told to move it that are not education related.
