A Grande Prairie resident allegedly stabbed two young children on February 19, leaving one with severe throat injuries that will require months of tube feeding.
Due to a publication ban, the alleged attacker cannot be identified.
One child remains at Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary with a severed esophagus, while the second has been released.
The suspect was initially held under medical supervision in a psychiatric ward but was released within 26 hours of being admitted.
Mental health advocates note that the typical hold period for someone considered a danger to themselves or others is at least 72 hours.
"One of the children will have to eat from a feeding tube for several months," the source confirmed.
"The esophagus was completely severed."
The suspect is a self-described spiritual and life coach.

"Umm I stabbed a hole in her shoulder yes but…held it shut until EMS arrived…yes I stabbed her but I didn't slash her like that at all. I was trying to remain optimistic given my situation that doesn't mean i haven't been remorseful. It sucks and I apologize. I'll just…take my space and do my therapy." reads one post screen shot by another Discord user and posted again to Facebook.
What the story doesn't tell you is that he is actually the father of the two children as well as the attacker. Canadian law doesn't want you to know the identities of the children, which is understandable but also makes the crime even more evil.
But maybe the Judge is even more evil
