Probably not the case. The one here closed as well, so probably state/countrywide.

We have some friends that own a Mexican food place near OTB. The OTB manager called him one day and said "we're closing for good. If you want any of our equipment, come and get it".

They've been closing restaurants across the country very recently. Looks like this is just one of those.

Should have shut down long ago. All their almonds have legs.

Restaurants are too expensive to go often as they have all increased prices a lot and reduced quantity.
So we don't go as often.

Plus the tip. I don't feel like giving anything more than 15-18% for average tip. If you ask the rich folks on TexAgs, a 25% is minimum "since the wait staff relies on tips".

The restaurant industry has seen a cutback of about 40% from me. And I am sure many others. You take your customers for granted, you pay the price.

OTB was about 1 mile from my house. Closed.

My 3 friends and I ate dinner at On the Border on 9/23/2023. We were in College Station for the Auburn vs Texas A&M game. On the Border has been closing restaurants across the country, and the College Station location is just one of them.

I don't know of a chain that's at their level. I know Uncle Julio's in Dallas is close but no cigar.

That being said, Chuy's is good for the price point but there's tons of mom and pop places that blow all the aforementioned away and it's not even close.

Probably still better than Los Cucos.

The notion there's only one good chain is laughably silly.

The original OTB on Beltline in Dallas was the best Tex-Mex in the history of food. The inevitable franchise expansion and ultimate sale to a mass distributor buying ingredients from Sysco is the rinse and repeat model of how to fail a winning concept.
