Why in the wide wide world of sports was the mayor of LA asked to "represent the President " for a trip to Ghana?

That's a ridiculous statement and situation. It's a gross failure and mismanagement of public service duty that that was even on the table as an option.

It's also a bald face lie. No chance that trip was at all important. Couldn't spare the President's time, or the VP's time, couldn't spare anyone on the President's team, or Cabinet, or any Dem from the Senate or House, or any Federal Appointee, or any Governor, or any County Official?

This was a trip nobody wanted to do, and nobody valued. She must have somehow found out about this pork spending benefit trip and volunteered to go.
