if you paid attention, to know that stopping the pipeline construction stopped only about 15 full time jobs in the U.S. and around 35 in Canada. The rest of the 10,000 or so jobs that were cut were to be temporary workers on the job 4 to 6 months each as the pipeline made its way through several States to its stopping point.
I'm guessing you truly don't understand the full economic impact of shutting down that pipeline.
My response wasn't about addressing economic impact, only whether various media had said anything about potential jobs that hadn't happened. Those 10,000 jobs would have resulted in a lot of what became unrealized salary along with ancillary income from support resources (restaurants, motels, etc.) during construction. What would have reduced that impact though is that since those were only ever to be temporary jobs it's no different than any number of potential jobs that didn't pan out so contractors just look for other projects for their workers. Impact? Certainly, but not the huge loss some like to think it caused.

Thanks for proving you have no clue.

I appreciate you having the willingness to display your ignorance.

I was somewhat surprised that 60 Minutes did this story, and I have a feeling a lot of people will be fired/reassigned for it (as they should).

Paramount is trying to merge with Skydance, but the only thing holding it up is the FCC, and Shari Redstone has been willing to settle the Trump lawsuit out of court just to get this done. Willing to pay BILLIONS to Trump.

And then they do this.
It would be one thing to have a true story that they could stand behind.

But a lie? That won't help get this done.

Agreed. You obviously have no knowledge of the Keystone XL pipeline issue other than social media misinformation. If you're ever brave enough to check out reality instead of relying on far right fever dreams, try looking it up. If you're arguing there are more economic ramifications than the few I listed, improve your reading comprehension. I listed a few real economic hits affecting workers and support services but didn't presume they were all. The 'etc.' at the end of my list acknowledged there were more. If you actually knew anything about it you could have taken that and added more to fill in the 'etc.' instead of just proving your ignorance.

If you're arguing the cancellation impacted American oil production, wake up. The pipeline began in Canada and was meant to carry Canadian oil to refineries. Not one American oilfield job was impacted. Biden's supposed 'war on energy' must have backfired since American oil production recovered from its collapse in 2020 and ramped up higher than ever before. We became and are the most prolific producer of oil in the world. If you don't believe that, look it up. Oil industry and economic websites show we passed Trump's production peak nearly two years ago. As to the heavy Canadian crude itself that the pipeline was being built for, it is still being transported to American refineries. Most through other, existing pipelines and the rest of it by rail. You knew all that, right? No? What a shock.

These people are all outing themselves. They are so accustomed to incompetent bureaucrats overseeing things (who are more interested in increasing their budget size than accountability) that they cannot truly comprehend what is happening right now.

So they go to their long time friends in the press (who are also in on this) and are in a desperate last ditch effort to hold on to their $$$$$ off the backs of taxpayers.
