Adult only admission. This is not a big deal

If wine swilling women want to waste their money on stupid sh** like this, so be it

And yes, many of those same women would bring their kids if they were allowed
This is where I am at.

I like free speech. I'm not in line with gender-bending morals of the left.

My vote is to fight free speech I don't agree with using more free speech. I submit that there are more people at A&M that don't think drag is normal behavior than do.

The easiest thing to do is just ignore and go on with your life. But, making fun of the idea of dressing in drag by being ridiculous about it is more fun.

So fight free speech you don't agree with by using more free speech, specifically, by being, uhhh, "ridiculous"?

What does that even mean?

I said earlier in the thread.

Get about 2,000 hairy cowboys with beards to show up to the event in sundresses, boots, shorts, and giant water balloon filled DD bras.

Would be fun.

One spring (or maybe fall) afternoon years ago, a girl named Karen and I rode our bicycles down Westheimer through the Montrose area.

At one light, there was a jeep ahead of us with a young man and youg woman in it and a cheerleader dancing for the driver (the man). The couple didn't look exactly thrilled.

Although I suspected that the cheerleader was male, I was surprised when he turned around and had a mustache. Karen didn't realize that the cheerleader was male until he turned around and that really caught her off guard.

"I don't like the drag show and so, to protest, me and a bunch of my friends are going to dress up in drag and come to the drag show."

This is a rock solid plan.

Or, you could just ignore what doesn't affect you. Attendance isn't mandatory.

Attendance by people being silly about this topic isn't mandatory, either.

This is a risky plan. You might get to your seats and realize you are actually having a good time and enjoying a drag show.

That would just be the worst.

Years ago, I went to someone's house for dinner. The dinner was fine, but after that, there was a movie. Ever see Lust in the Dust starring a drag queen who went by the name of "Divine"?

I, the only Aggie there, thought it was pathetically stupid. The other three, all Rice grads, loved it.

Divine comes to mind when people here imagine drag shows as being some event based around sexually arousing the audience. I don't think many people would be sexually aroused by the sight of Divine in her dress and trademark garish makeup. That's not the point at all. Drag shows can definitely get bawdy but it's generally for comic effect.

One of the most comic was at the Westheimer Art Festival some years ago (around 1990 or so).

There was an older house on a corner in the area that they were having the festival.

A bunch of "women" came out and started doing a striptease. Quite a few men didn't realize that those "women" were actually drag queens and they started cheering and applauding and getting a bit noisy.

Then, at one point, it became real obvious that those "women" were actually males. There were a lot of embarassd men in the crowd.
