I'm all for freedom of speech, but we certainly have decency laws.
It's crazy something that vile is allowed in a public forum on a University campus. These perverts should not be allowed to host this smut on a public campus. No burlesque or pornographic shows of any kind should be hosted at a University.

Surprised this is still happening now that USAID has been killed. That seemed to find all the debauchery.
I think this is fine. I'm not a fan of drag myself, but they're keeping it 18+. That's what we all wanted for this stuff.

perception is reality. yes tamu is a public school and part of the campus is open to the public, however that doesn't mean that all lewd and disgusting behavior should be allowed.
if they were not gay but straight and they wanted to display themselves sexually which is what does happen at these drag events would that be acceptable?
no you would be arrested. the only reason why people feel any of this should be tolerated is because sexual deviants have become part of a protected class.
is this not why they have strip clubs, gay clubs or whatever? because there are an actual places for this behavior and it is not in public on a school campus.

There are bound to be some "different" personalities. It's not the position of the school or the keyboard warriors on this board to regulate that behavior. They can and should regulate the time and place, ensure the safety of others that choose not to participate, and ensure that everything is done in accordance with university rules, state law, and federal law.
I wasn't a fan of Rocky Horror Picture Show sing/paly along shows that used to be hosted at the Grove when I was there. Bunch of weirdos in my book. But no one thought they should be shut down.

They want drama and attention. Best to just ignore, regardless of your opinion. Same with the lip and tongue piercing and nose hoops. They name it and put it on campus to get drama and attention, just like the piercings and such. Unless it's your kid, just ignore.

And yes, I have issues with most fundamentalist religions. However that is of a different subject really and stems from a deep seated and personal background that I would never ask anyone to try to understand.

The BEST thing the Aggie community ever did was show up and form a blue jeans and maroon shirt wall (with backs turned) to the Code Pink losers that announced they were showing up to cause a scene at a service member funeral in CS. Don't protest back. Don't engage. The Aggie community ignored them while keeping them from causing a scene.
