Was talking with The Hubs about this earlier and that is the effect on state party chairs as well. When more mainstream moderate Dems are no longer engaged at the local level due to disgust, the loonies will become the majority having to vote for state party leaders. So those state leaders will look for potential candidates that adhere to their own agendas which will affect state houses.
Also have to wonder how the national party being led by these loonies could affect delegates and super delegates. After the 1968 election, George McGovern changed the way delegates to the national convention were selected. S decidedly leftward lurch which gave McGovern the nom in 1972. The next DNC chair, Strauss, brought the adults back into the delegate selections. That's not gonna happen here.
