I have said for a number of years now that the DNC was facing a crisis similar to that after 1972 when McGovern went too far left and was obliterated by Nixon. They moderated enough to get Carter elected but then wiped out again for three cycles after that.

But looking around the Dem bench, didn't see anyone who might be able to rein them in and get the DNC back on track as a party. Terry McAuliffe or someone like PA guv Shapiro could have, in my view.

But with these choices as leaders of the DNC, the inmates are running the asylum. They do not have the ability to be serious and truly lead the party. No one within the party will listen them, much less follow them in picking candidates at both he federal and state level. And they will continue to have people such as that loony gal from Florida's state party as state party leaders.

It would be sad, were it not so damn funny.

The problem the Dems have is that their entire bench consists of people that are simply stupid. The only smart contingent they had was Big Tech and Silcon Valley and now that is moving back to the middle to curry favor with Trump and to get back into some semblance of normalcy.

For years, they have promoted people purely based on identity politics, so they've hollowed out their organizations.
