Seems RFK may sneak through.
Tulsi may require Trump to either get fully behind her or move on.
Have heard the same on Halperin's show this morning. Tulsi has the weekend to fight back and Trump may or not be involved in that. Right now, getting her out of committee is the hurdle. Cassidy (LA senator) s a stumbling block there.flown-the-coop said:
Scuttle this morning is that he is the most likely of the RKF Jr, Tulsi, Kash crew to get confirmed.

Cassidy is not on the Intelligence Committee. But he is on Finance, so its RFK that he could muck up!Quote:

People just **** on Grassley because he is ancient. He is excellent at his job and deeply engaged. This is not a man wheeled in and out of meetings and drooling on himself. He doesn't spend every weekend on the beach with someone having to flip him over to prevent sunburns.titan said:Huh? Other than slow cadence, every word and concept was clear. It was nothing like a Biden speech for example. He gave dates of emails, than read the content or quotes from them, before going to the next. Was tracking each date for what it suggested. The first group was in February 2022 and then he went on thru April. All was very clear.WestAustinAg said:Here's another senator than needs to retire. Such a dichotomy that we have in our Senators from Louisiana:
- The treasure that is Senator Kennedy
- The traitorous TDS RINO that is Cassidy
would love Patel to follow the Constitution with regards to the 4th Amendment, rather than saying that under him the FBI will continue to warrantless monitoring of US citizens communications under FISA 702 because of the inconveniences to the Feds otherwise.nortex97 said:
Kash makes some good/great points here, as usual, but I just disagree that the FBI could in any way be salvaged. It needs to be legislatively abolished and replaced.Nails. Absent that, I am glad he is likely to be in charge of it, vs. others.
Grassley does his job, though. I am not specifically talking about voting record. He is paying attention to what is going on and he is very involved in investigating government malfeasance. He also represents his own state well (his job). Cornyn struggles with that.Im Gipper said:
Funny thing about those last two posts (before Adam87): if you look at their Heritage score and voting record, they're really is not any difference between Grassley and Cornyn.
Booker is trying to get him in a perjury trap. He says one tiny thing wrong and the left would pounce on it.nortex97 said:
He's the only senator who can rival Hirono with his performative stupidity. He took the mask off for the camera's. So brave, Spartacus.🚨As Cory Booker tries to launch into a performative outrage tirade, he has to be handed a note from a staffer to get to the right question:

Senate Majority Leader John Thune vowed to barrel through Trump's nominees on weekends.

But on Thursday, he released Senators for a long weekend.
They aren't meeting until 3PM on Monday.

Bondi and Kash don’t have jobs right now because they haven’t been confirmed yet, so they haven’t done anything you’re falsely accusing them of.

Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats are delaying @Kash_Patel’s committee vote by a week, pursuant to a rule that allows them to do so
— Mike Lee (@BasedMikeLee) February 6, 2025
Republicans waived that rule 17 times in the last Congress & Dems should do so here
Why wouldn’t they waive that rule to allow the FBI director…

I hope this is making it crystal clear to the establishment R's that "playing nice" rarely works. Of course many of them are on USAID kickbacks so they probably won't learn a ****ing thing.MarkTwain said:Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats are delaying @Kash_Patel’s committee vote by a week, pursuant to a rule that allows them to do so

Especially with DemocratsQuote:

Okay here's the deal: It comes down to Judiciary Committee rules, which allow a week delay at the request of ANY committee member. It has nothing to do with Thune. Same thing happened with @PamBondi.

Dems are still just delaying the inevitable.
Luckily, Judiciary Chairman… https://t.co/KFWvAoNtj1
Again, ignore these guys. Your next FBI Director, @Kash_Patel has the votes. @SenJudiciaryGOP vote to advance him on Thurs 2/13. Then, he'll head to the floor for final confirmation. https://t.co/E1ot2EzZc6

It's about time. I think Patel and Bondi are going to be fantastic at rooting out the bad players and holding people accountable through the justice system. I pray a lot of people end up in prison, as they should for what they have perpetrated on this country.aggiegrad01 said:

It first has to go to cloture, which must "ripen" for 1 full day. Then they can vote to end cloture, in which the dems then get their 30 hour cry session on the floor if they so chose, which so far they pretty much have across the board. Then it goes to full vote. So looking at next week unless they stay and work this weekend.Tailgate88 said:
Do we know when the final vote will be? I think it has to be at least 30 hours of bloviating first, right?
