its just grandstanding

Schiff was worried about retribution to blue states by USDA; i wish she would have said not senator we won't discriminate like the last administration did

They'll all get confirmed ultimately. Hegseth, RFK Jr, and Gabbard will be the only ones that will be close (but still get confirmed).

For educational purposes, these are all the agencies within the USDA. There's room for reorganization and combining with other agencies here, even across departments.

Rollins has done very well today and come across as a very good representative of our university. So far she has been very poised and refreshingly candid when there is a question on a subject she just doesn't know a lot about, which has not been that often.

Trump has done a good job picking cabinet secretaries that are good in front of the committees and the cameras. Obviously they have to be good at hiring people and administrating in their departments and that will become known over time. But step one for these nominees has impressed me so far.

Gig 'Em Brooke!

When sworn in, she will be the second female ever to run USDA.

The other was also appointed by a Republican.

Trump and the other Rs are doing a lousy job of implementing The Handmaid's Tale

Pathetic that Ron Desantis was the only elected official in America to publicly speak out against Brooke Rollins failed First Step Act. Almost all of the non-violent criminals were actually heinous violent criminals who had pleaded down to a lesser crime. Many of them are murderers who pleaded down. Many have gone on to commit more heinous crimes after getting out. She helped pass this before the crime surge of mid 2020 to mid 2023. Before the general public turned heavily against her positions on crime. Looking at AFPI new positions on crime in Agenda 47, it looks like she realizes that she made a mistake. Thankfully she will be at Agriculture and not the DOJ.

Cool

1. Glen Rose is one of the coolest towns in this state. I love it.

2. Brooke Rollins is hot

3. The indoor sports arena there at the High School is outstanding. One of my boys played in a couple tournaments there.

Is she going to be apologizing to the victims of the thousands of violent criminals she released from prison?

Tom Cotton warned her that her legislation was crap. Why would you push something written by Cory Booker and heavily promoted by Van Jones into law if you are a Republican? Van Jones even admitted afterwards that it was radical. Van Jones called it a "radical outcome".

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/dozens-of-violent-criminals-have-been-released-under-first-step-act-data-shows

F16: She only released thousands of violent criminals who had pleaded down to lesser charges, and have now gone on to commit more heinous violent crimes, but I will still support her because she went to my school and Trump said she is good.

My gosh the federal government is so bloated! We could eliminate most of those agencies and not one American would notice any difference in their lives. I'm sure that's true with just about every department.

I work at a cotton gin. My job is directly impacted by several of the agencies on that site. AMS, ARS, RMA, ERS, NASS, and FSA all for sure. Those agencies are important for what I do, and more importantly, what my producers do.

I'm sure there is bloat in the USDA, but the local parts of those agencies that I deal with are pretty vital to the Ag production and processing industries.

There's a once in a lifetime opportunity to overhaul the meet inspection racket, and turn it over back to the states.

Get rid of all the bottlenecks for small producers, and the number of small farms would explode across the country.
