That's a facile observation. You are presuming the govts definition of what "shouldn't be doing" is the same as actual right and wrongs.

It's simplistic for sure but can you provide an example of something you would/ should do if you know you're not on camera and shouldn't if you know you are . I suppose I wasn't limiting my thinking to legal vs illegal. I mean if you flip someone off it may not be the right thing to do but it's not necessarily illegal for example.

There are nuances for sure .

Well like discussing last time was at the range and hence that becoming known. If you are in a negative govt that is an otherwise neutral thing you would talk freely about in Texas, but not Venezuela.

I see a difference between video cameras in public for security & law enforcement purposes as opposed to audio spying. Government entities or private entities listening to your private conversations are a different beast imo. Government video monitoring of a privately owned shooting range also a different beast and I can definitely see the slippery slope there.

You're right. Thanks to The Patriot Act, people are deemed guilty when necessary, even if the evidence is as weak as it comes.

AI will take something already messed up in our government to a whole new level. This is just the natural progression (slippery slope) of what happens when Pandora's Box (Patriot Act) gets opened.
