WOW! That would have been a lot of fun!

And that season when they had the female POTUS and Dar was organizing a coup against her? Fits right in with what Danes is saying before Colbert cuts her off.

I remember there was a scene in an episode where her character explained how spooks and analysts talk, their lingo. She specifically mentions George Tenet using the term "slam dunk" saying they never talk in absolutes, so her character knew there was an issue as to what Tenet was being told.

Like that youtube posted here recently of the guy who used to be in the CIA. Really informative and fascinating stuff. I considered going to work for the CIA when I was interviewing in law school but the position was only in DC for the first several years and I wanted no part of living back up north again.

Yes, the CIA allied itself with "journalists" to leak BS stories so they could predicate an illegal treasonous spy campaign and coup attempt on a sitting POTUS. Probably one of the biggest stories in American history, totally swept under the rug.

And yet when Francis Gary Powers was shot down, they didn't send a guy from the CIA to get him back, despite him working for the CIA at the time.

They sent an insurance lawyer.

Francis Gary Powers knew the job that he signed up for. He swore that he'd go down with the plane or take the cyanide capsule.

His job was to NEVER be taken alive!

And Oliver North always knew he was the fall guy in Iran Contra. Soldiers don't always do as they are told.

I was fan of Homeland. Later seasons were not as great as the first several were and by the series finale they had killed off everybody except Carrie and Saul and Dar but Dar was in prison. I always wondered how much access the writers had to the CIA. Sounds like it was much more than I ever imagined.

It's no "secret" that the CIA consults with TV shows.

I'm going to guess they verify employment through a shell corporation name? As a "consultant"?

Makes Watergate look like church camp shenanigans.

Then there's the 2020 election interference.

Biggest scandals of any of our lifetimes imo. Unless they really did kill JFK maybe.

It is ironic to me that the film Three Days of the Condor had a plotline wherein Redford played an open source CIA analyst and in the end he goes to the press, specifically the New York Times. When Redford tells Cliff Robertson's character that the Times is about to publish the story, Robertson replies, "You sure about that?"

CIA used to quash press stories. Now they disseminate them directly to the press.

They didn't pretty her up for that role. She was playing a brilliant nut job with violent mood swings and mostly forgettable clothes. As a field agent, she's not supposed to stand out.

FED FED FED FED!

Are you comfortable watching that last 3 seconds and see his body language, and how fast he changed gears and honestly say he is not covering, nothing to see here?

You are intelligent enough to fire up an electronic device, create an email and username and log into TexAgs, and you can watch that and believe, "nope, just normal interview flow, every professional journalist throws their hand on top of their head and phisically recoils away from the interviewee during normal conversation".

At some point you have to be honest with yourself and admit that everyone with any power is hell bent on stopping Trump, and maybe, just maybe, there is a reason they are so threatened by him and it might be in my best interest to understand why he poses such a threat to them

And Colbert is the guy that is going to stop Trump? The CIA is so good at their job that Trump survived two assasination attempts and was re-elected. Weird.
