If I remember correctly their " Cry closet " was not up to specs. and OSHA shut it down. The whole campus is now in limbo probably for the next 18 months till that issue is resolved !!

Is this a case like U.T. then? Its hard to see Idahoans being upset about such a cancellation.

Since some of you all probably know. Is Idaho still conservative. I see states like Utah and Montana that were once bedrock conservative and now due to decades of lib infestation from CA, OR and WA seems like they are becoming liberal like every other state

About twelve years since there for me. And the California "influx" then was more former police from CA, fleeing the anti-police attitudes in L.A. Has it gone liberal then.

This makes me happy. There is still hope for those stats. When it comes to Californians leaving. You never know if you are going to get the libs who want to come to your state and immediately change it to the same policies they just fled from or conservatives who are fleeing and will be a new bulwark for your state against Marxism.

Most of the transplants, including myself, are conservative. Boise is purple/blue, mostly because of the younger population. This includes some transplants, of course, but from my day to day interaction it seems like these are actually Idaho locals. There are alarming numbers of liberal kids, primarily female, but that's how it is within that population in most cities these days, especially in academic settings. And likely the kids in question in Moscow in this thread.

Outside of Boise, it's very red though. More gun friendly than Texas, overall people here are more libertarian in goals and just want to be left alone.

Overall, the California transplants actually seem to be making the state more red, but ridiculously more expensive as the tradeoff.

Yea, Moscow Idaho is the picture of diversity and wokeness.

I'm guessing they found their one "student" in the arts and humanities department.

3/4 of all them ought to be diggin 'taters.

Yeah, I believe you. I had a friend from Montana she used to call " God's country ". I have seen pictures it does seem to be very beautiful. I will put iit in my list of things to do before I kick the bucket.

I spent 8 days elk hunting Idaho last year and got to meet some great people. The locals talk about Moscow, ID like the state of Texas does about Austin. They want nothing to do with it.

Probably fits with the fact had that name before 1991 and Russia stopped being communist.

U of I gives Oregon, Washington, and Alaska residents in state tuition and it's cheaper than UO/UW/OSU/WSU etc. This results in a super interesting mix of conservative Idahoans and eastern Wa&Or folks, and then a bunch of hippies from Portland, Boise, and Seattle metros. Moscow locals are mostly red but then you have a bunch of blue students and academics at the university. So there's sure to be some hippies wigging out about this but most are probably glad if they care at all.

Anecdotally, I've met so many people from Cali that have moved to Collin Co and they're very conservative. They specifically came to Texas to get away from that crap.

Got married (2nd) in Whitefish, MT….absolutely gorgeous.
Have been looking for 2 yrs for a summer place up there. Influx of CA's has driven up prices DRAMATICALLY.

Uhm, no. As a student, why wouldn't you care that your profs are being hired because of their race, etc. instead of merit? Why wouldn't you care that financial aid is being given out on non-merit-based criteria? Duh.
