He was not a decent human being at all, he just was decent at projecting that genteel image. Otherwise spot-on.

This year, we analyzed in depth the structure of the drug penalties in this state. I believe in the future there will be a clear understanding of the seriousness of different crimes relating to drugs. We've finally been able to get through the legislature a law that removes alcoholism or drunkenness as a criminal offense. When this law goes into effect next year, I think it will create a new sense of compassion and concern and justice for the roughly 150,000 alcoholics in Georgia, many of whom escape the consequences of what has been a crime because of some social or economic prominence, and will remove a very heavy load from the criminal justice system. -JC

And good people don't advocate for the murder of unborn children. When Jimmy Carter stands before the One True Holy and Righteous God, "Well done!", will not be forthcoming. He could build a million Habitat homes and it won't earn him salvation.
