I think sometimes, as someone else mentioned, its a targeted event with collateral damage. But I also think perpetuation of tribalism and hate coupled with a great deal of mental illness. I also think people have a skewed view of society when they spend all their time on the internet and their reality gets warped and disconnected from people in general.

This is just another awful event. We need to do a better job championing morality and Christian morality specifically.

Still no ID of the shooter.

The two dead are one teacher, one teenage student.

Two students in critical condition, considered life threatening injuries.

Everything else was about the fire/EMS response and I didn't feel like listening to the mayor pontificating.

Small schools are often "soft" targets, due to the lighter security. We need our LEO to pay attention to our smaller schools, its a matter of public safety, not separation of church and state.

The twitter account posted earlier might be accurate. Posted from the bathroom at 10:45 local time and the shooting started just before 11. The account posted a link to a google document that you need to request to get access. The profile picture is a former school shooter and there was a grainy video post from 3 days ago from what looks like a gun range.

The account followed 17 people who are interesting. Two of those followed claim the account belongs to a biological woman named "Sam" (posted the full name but I won't repost it) who is not transgender. A few of the followers posted favorable opinions of nazis/hitler and had posted pictures of other mass shooters prior to the attack (buffalo, Sandy Hook, UC Santa Barbara).

I was referring to local media.

National media can and do lie all the time, and even if they get sued, just pay to make it go away.

A local TV station doesn't have the $$$ to pay off a multimillion dollar lawsuit for defamation.

So not much out of the press conference. Weapon was a hand gun, shooter was a student, incident occurred in a single space, officers went in as they arrived but shooter had already shot themself. No information about school security. Those at the podium were who you'd expect to have those roles in a place like Madison.

Supposedly this person was in a Discord with the shooter and posted this. Probably not true, so take it with a grain of salt.

Traditional Chinese culture makes a binary distinction between yin/female and yang/male. I have seen some references to another video from last week or so that a female committed suicide at a firing range? Haven't seen anything specific though.
