They have called 4 times in the last three days. I didn't pick up the first three times and answered the fourth but hung up as soon as the guy started asking personal questions. I Googled it and guess it's legit. Why do they need a survey, don't they get immunization numbers reported from doctors and clinics and whatever? Why would they call 4 times? I'm not giving them my household income info and any of the other private crap they wanted. Anyone else getting these calls?

It's most likely spoofed, so don't answer. The government doesn't have the tenacity or care to call you four times.

They did that last summer.

I got hung up when I answered "Why do you need this info when you are just going to lie about it and make up your own stats?"

I really didn't expect that.

Sounds like a fun one to screw with!
Ask them what undergarments they are wearing.
Ask them if their refrigerator is running, if so suggest that they catch it.
Give them a name like Howie Felderteets.
Tell him you were diagnosed with cronic hotdog fingers after receiving your immunizations.

Thirty years ago, there was a listing in the Austin phone book for several years for "Henauder Titzoff.

The National Immunization Surveys (NIS) are conducted in households across the country by phone. The telephone numbers are randomly selected by a computer, so it is possible that your phone number may be contacted. Here is a letter from Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, Director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD), which describes the surveys [2 pages].

Your participation is voluntary and no information that identifies any individual is ever shared or released. All survey responses and personal data are kept confidential in accordance with strict Federal regulations. Post or message me your number and I will call you from that NIS number. The government might legit call you once or twice, but they aren't trying four times.

Maybe because I'm old and grumpy, but I never answer my phone unless I recognize the caller. If it's important they will leave a message

I've done the same for years. However, if I am feeling sporting, every now and then I'll act super interested in what they have to say then tell to hold on for just a sec and then go back to whatever I was doing and just leave the phone sitting there.

Waste as much of their time as they'll allow.

I used to try to answer most calls in case they were work related, but the auto warranty spammers broke me.

I missed a call a couple of days ago because I was on a tractor. Thinking it might be a potential tenant I called back. As it turns out, the call was about me failing to appear in court and contempt of court regarding some PPP loan money. She cited the lender, loan amount, and other details that are part of public records.

I told her I had received no request to appear and she said I signed for a certified letter on some date. But, while I own that property, mail hasn't been deliverable there for awhile, nor have I been there, at the date she indicated. So I told her she should just move forward and have me arrested, lol.
