Members and Committees each have annual budgets and allowances for travel. Approval requirements differ as to the type of travel, type of funds used, and the destination. This is a Congressional Delegation and was likely authorized by Michael McCaul as the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee.aggiehawg said:

By the way, travel's a budgetary tiny drip in the bucket and DOGE can do just about jack **** to affect Congress' own travel budget and rules.
Obviously a drop in the bucket of our bloated government but I do hope DOGE finds ways, as mentioned previously, to have legislative requirements for these trips.
Being a US Rep / Senator should not be about fun vacations on taxpayer dimes.
