They'd just make up some crap about DeSantis and then GOP fools would fall for that too. Then demand we get somebody else. Until we get a Lloyd Austin again.

It's a mandate. He improved in almost every county in the nation.

So you are fully prepared to continue to give oxygen to liberal keyboard warriors who pose as journalists, relying upon unnamed sources and vague accusations to destroy another Republican, rather than doing your own research and discovering the full story?

Good to know.

Remind me again, when did Reagan have a larger margin in either chamber? Did that message reach Tip O'Neil?

This is why Trump faces opposition from within his own party: the war machine.

That guy is the leader of a major European nation. You think he could at least put a coat and tie on when visiting dignitaries that he's begging money from.

I'm not even sure if you're right though. I think she may have been visiting him. She's…not real credible/respectable, imho.

LOL, so Kari Lake can lose to a Democrat for a third time, and give them another Senate seat to the Democrats.

MAGA true believers like this Gunther Eagleman guy are nothing if not persistent with backing perennial losers like Lake.

A former trustee confirmed that Pete Hegseth "voluntarily resigned" as president of a veterans advocacy group in 2016, according to a copy of a letter exclusively obtained by The Post, denying recent allegations that the defense secretary-designee was forced out due to alcohol abuse, sexual impropriety and financial mismanagement.
Concerned Veterans for America trustee Randy Lair in a Jan. 16, 2016, missive wrote that "it was important to set the record straight given what appears to be a very personal attack against Pete and his military service."
"The truth is Pete resigned his position as CEO of Concerned Veterans for America as a result of a difference of opinion as to the future of the organization and so that he could focus on other endeavors, including his relationship with Fox News," Lair said.

Don't go full-on TDS. Kari would be challenging a nominal Republican incumbent in such a scenario. If you support Ernst and are so sure Kari is a loser-MAGA then I'd think you'd be enthralled at such a threat. No Democrat is gonna win state-wide in Iowa.

Nope but the ring leader leading this apparently is no saint in her private life and has an economic interest in keeping the war in Ukraine going.

This is done. She either votes yes or gets targeted for removal at the next election.

Didn't intend to create a controversy by posting the letter. Just thought that the more info we had on this thread, the better.

I am not pro nor anti Hegseth because frankly I don't have a vote but some fair treatment and not the Kavanaugh kind needs to become the norm again.

Again, solely my .02.

Which says nothing.

He wasn't fired (which I am unaware of anyone saying he was), and left because of a "difference of opinion", which is so vague it could mean anything.

It certainly doesn't say that he did (or didn't) do anything. It's a legal CYA letter so that the organization is covered and their silence isn't interpreted as agreement with anything one way or another.

This is an oddly ridiculous opinion.

If they wanted to say nothing they would have, in fact, said nothing.

It is clear that the purpose of the letter is to counter the accusation that was made.

Look I'm a big fan of DeSantis but I'm pulling for Hegseth here. I think you need something to base primary challenges on. And this is a perfect example. They got Gaetz, weird pick, fine. But that's all you get. I think they need to go to bat here. Because next will be RFK and Tulsi. Foot down. Ernst has already earned herself a primary over this. Graham probably as well. They've been there forever, time to make room for new blood.

They were shining the spotlight on her on the Mark Levin show this evening. She's not going to like all the attention. They played audio of her griping about not being able to vote on Biden's immigration bill because she thought it did much to address our immigration problems. She's apparently not too bright. Maybe she thinks she can become the next Mitt Romney or Olympia Snow. She's made a significant miscalculation.

We all know this. It is the same playbook just rotated to the next nominee as the first one falls. Womanizing and partying. Oh noes!

"Womanizing and partying"...
Quote:

A previously undisclosed whistle-blower report on Hegseth's tenure as the president of Concerned Veterans for America, from 2013 until 2016, describes him as being repeatedly intoxicated while acting in his official capacity to the point of needing to be carried out of the organization's events. The detailed seven-page report which was compiled by multiple former C.V.A. employees and sent to the organization's senior management in February, 2015 states that, at one point, Hegseth had to be restrained while drunk from joining the dancers on the stage of a Louisiana strip club, where he had brought his team.

The report also says that Hegseth, who was married at the time, and other members of his management team sexually pursued the organization's female staffers, whom they divided into two groups the "party girls" and the "not party girls." In addition, the report asserts that, under Hegseth's leadership, the organization became a hostile workplace that ignored serious accusations of impropriety, including an allegation made by a female employee that another employee on Hegseth's staff had attempted to sexually assault her at the Louisiana strip club. In a separate letter of complaint, which was sent to the organization in late 2015, a different former employee described Hegseth being at a bar in the early-morning hours of May 29, 2015, while on an official tour through Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, drunkenly chanting "Kill All Muslims! Kill All Muslims!"
I don't think it is too much to ask for Mr. Hegseth to answer the legitimate concerns from Senators regarding someone who has been appointed to run the largest department in the federal government, where his responsibilities will include not just the Trumpian wet dream of "gutting" the department, but also the very serious task of ensuring that the US military in its various forms is up to the task of defending the country and enacting/enforcing the president's foreign policy priorities as they involve the military.
Did he shove a cigar up a direct reports vagina? Is that enough to disqualify you from a federal office leadership position?

Look, Hegseth may turn out to be the best SECDEF our country has every known. But to have his mom involved in calling senators and doing news shows on his behalf is embarrassing. And then for him to publicly say he'd quit drinking alcohol if he gets the job..... It's the damned Secretary of Defense for the U.S. Primary advisor to the President on all things warfare, nuclear, etc. Is his mom going to join him in the senate hearings? Is his AA accountability partner going to be there? I can't believe I'm even typing this.
Trump is a convicted felon for paying hush money to a porn star. Is his probation officer going to meet with him in the Oval Office? Does this disqualify him from being President?
Does paying hush money to a port star make you ineligible to be POTUS?

DeSantis isn't a tatted up guy with multiple divorces and no executive experience.

They'll make stuff up but Hegseth made it easy on them.

Who isn't embarrassed that the 6th in order of succession to the President of the US is having their mom call senators and advocate for him to get the job? Because he's a "changed man" (her quote)? And promising he'll "stop drinking" (his quote)? Trump can do better. And should.

He's not as much of a changed man as Biden's Racheal Levin.

My first thought was a veteran was a drunk?!?!?! Unfortunately that was part of the culture at the time. I know a lot of veterans that were drunks when and after they served that have it under control or sober now. I also know several that are still drunks. Hence the vetting process, question him and those around him to get his drinking habits. I know when the FBI does their background interviews for government jobs they talk to people that are not your friends and will spill the truth.

Stopping alcohol is not difficult if the will is there.
