If one has ever watched Live PD/On Patrol Live, you'll understand where this child learned such behavior.

Not excusing it, but special needs maybe?

Mom still needs to get a handle.

Holy crap. Another thing, I'd be holding the parent responsible for paying for anything that hit that floor, but of course WM probably isn't going to do that.

But also, my parents would and did dicipline other people's children if it was in public and a big enough transgression. If you can't parent your kid, my folks would. I think in this case I would absolutely have to step in and do something. That's not OK and not acceptable in society in the US.

I know when they would speak to children there were plenty of "Yeah? Yeah what? You mean Yes, Sir, young man."

I wish we lived in a society where people would take charge of maintaining the bare minimum acceptable levels of behavior.

I first saw the video on my phone without sound. Now that I've heard all that, presuming that was the mother I've changed my mind about who needs retribution.

That lady saying "don't stop her" and the other one saying "don't y'all do that to that little girl, you don't know what she's going through" are 100% what's wrong with America today.

I would stop her and not give a schlitz. Arrest me. I don't care. Crap like that can't just become acceptable behavior now.

I don't like going in Walmart, when I do it is not uncommon to see kids misbehaving (nowhere nearly this bad). In no way do I ever try to intercede or stop their behavior because I am simply out of my element. Shame on me for going in to Walmart in the first place.

I once saw a kid take a dump in the ice cream aisle because his mom said no about buying it.

She grabbed him and the ice cream and bolted from the aisle.

Then they sped away in their altima with paper tags to go terrorize a Kohls.

She'll be charging an employee behind a fast food counter in no time.

Walmart is a cesspool. But, I know I got my ass whipped a few times there. It was a great place for Mom to deliver a public spanking. However, we DO live in different times and I agree that it probably wouldn't end the same way as it did in 1987.

All you "should be beatin that kid", well you know what? I blame you. Too many karens lately have scrutinized other families for disciplining kids in public but not enough of you praise parents who lay the smack down on little johnny. See a parent giving the kid the business in public? Go over there and tell them "good job" and give them a handshake/hug. Let's reward the good parenting.

The parents and children should be banned from Walmart forever!

Sometimes I get horrified looks. Those people are idiots. Consistency works. Disrespect and Safety issues get a red hiney.

Immediate and consistent discipline is the key.

My wife would make our boys sit down in the aisle in timeout in a grocery store when they acted up. Right there, now mister! Two minutes, five minutes, whatever. She trained them to wave goodbye to the candy at the checkout counter.

They learned real quick in church with me that cutting up resulted in a trip to the bathroom and spanking, right there. Only had to do it once or twice per kid, and that was it. As they got older it was presented as a choice "if you behave well in church, we can stop and get a donut on the way home. Or if you misbehave we go straight home for a spanking. Your choice." They chose wisely every time.

That would change if a Walmart employee kept track of the damage and billed the parent. If they walked without paying, theft.

That would have been bad if my parents saw me acting like that in a public place. My father never let the schools send me to "on-campus suspension". He was a proponent on the paddle - even telling one Asst Principal : "I can be there in 15 mins to be witness to punishment". Another time, he showed up to discuss the punishment with me sitting there listening. After being told the options, he came up with one not listed - "paddle his backside AND MEAN IT, then send him back to class...he and I will have further discussions later when I get home from work". That was his solution from Middle School through High School when I got out of line which was few and far between.

Now as for Walmart, I specifically go to 1 of 3 in my town as it is predominantly shopped at by Hispanic families. Only remember one incident with kids acting a fool - the son were excited at getting to pick out a treat and ran in front of another lady and I causing her to run her cart into the racks. The mother called the kid back to him, talked quietly to the kid. The kid came up to both of the lady and I, apologized for his running in front of us causing the wreck, and then took the treat box back to the shelf and placed it where he got it from. The other lady felt bad, walked over grabbed the treat, handed it back to the kid thanking him for apologizing and told the mother let him have the treat since he apologized. The other 2 Walmarts - nah, not worth going to those.

Gee, she started destructive behavior, and nobody stopped her. Even when she started grabbing glass bottles and endangering herself and others, it took a couple of bottles before someone even tried to stop her.

The alleged parent needs the whoopin', then this little brat.

I don't care how special needs you are, you can figure out that wrong behavior brings pain.

You don't explain the electric fence to the cow, but she learns darn quick when her nose gets zapped

I saw a perfectly healthy 10 year old girl on one of those motorized carts. That wasn't bad enough. She ran into the end of one of the rows and it happened to have glass vases on it. They went crashing to the ground and made a mess. The "mother" laughed and they just went about their business. I was shocked beyond words at the time. It just seemed so incredibly impossible anyone would act that way.

It wouldn't be the cops you'd have to worry about. Honestly, if I saw this behavior at a store from a young black kid I wouldn't do damn thing either. Her parent(s) would likely come to her defense.

I guarantee WalMart sees instances like this simply as a cost of doing business. And guess who ultimately pays for it.
