I'm baffled by some of Trump's appointments.

Some of them are good some of them I'm not keen on. I just hope it all works out in the end. Don't get me wrong. I'm absolutely thrilled that he will be back in office but a little cautious about how some of this is going to go. I wish I wasn't so uneasy about it, but I kind of am surprisingly.

I also think there should be a blanket pardon for the J6 people not by case. They were all persecuted and prosecuted unfairly, regardless of crime.

I hope Trump pardons all the J6 political prisoners on day 1. That and the weaponization of "our" lettered federal agencies and "our" federal government orchestrating and funding an invasion of America by the worst foreign nationals the world has to offer are 3 of the worst black marks in America history!

Some of Trump's appointments are historically awesome and significant. Elon and Vivik running gov efficiency is a game changer and one for the history books!!!

Agreed, especially with officer Byrd.

Which ones are neocons and swamp creatures? I'll give you Rubio, but most seem to be the opposite.

No, the FBI assets that attacked the Capitol Police should be hung for treason.

We still have not seen the full video from that day. You mean after the cops attacked them? Or if they attacked cops first? I'm not sure we really know.

Dinesh points this out.

I don't really have a problem with Rubios appointment. Hes so far more competent and aggressive than Blinken it's laughable. If you keep him focused on that job then I think he will be a vast improvement.

Blinken is a flat out joke and no one respects him. Remember when the Chinese basically mocked him in their first meeting? He was immediately illegitimate in that role.

How was the Edward Kelley trial rigged? Explain the political persecution of someone that assaults an officer and then plots to kill those investigating him.

Agree with that. Not only that, but Rubio has come fairly right from his initial just right of center. Additionally, SecState has a role something like the bad and good cop depending on the President. Whichever one prefers to talk sterner, the other can play more the moderator. Rubio won't undermine Trump, but might give him some leeway to behind the scenes convey things Trump wants to say without taking teeth out of a public statement.

Or it could be the other way around. Maybe this is wrong, but just doesn't come across like one who will work to sabotage the admin's foreign policy.

Probably not, but what's the going rate for attacking federal police? In Texas, it's 2 to 10 years and I expect most people in here would advocate for the harsher end of that scale in most circumstances. And that's just if it's a third degree felony. Aggregated assault can carry up to 99 years.

IIRC, Rubio came in as a Tea Party'er and quickly acquiesced to the Swamp.

If Rubio is anything... it is loyal to the master offering him power.

Trump is giving him power and Trump will have Rubio's loyalty until he is asked to prostitute himself by someone else.

I agree with you on this one. Mask idiocy was enough. Forcing it on children should have been disqualifying.

Tertiary story, i sent my superintendent a note berating him about masks. Believe it or not, he kind of admitted that he knew they didnt really do anything. The only thing they did was kept federal ESSER funds coming to the district.

Read that again. The only reason he kept kids wearing masks, was because his federal funding dependent on it.

Im not surprised that people in the government are fleeing in all directions. They know what they did, and they know they are about to Find Out.

I think one would need to compare the sentences of J6 defendants with the sentences or lack thereof of summer of love rioter sentences for the same crimes. The disparity of treatment between the two sides is the problem.

I agreed with DeSanits' policy on J6. All Non Violent offenders get a pardon. Any violent offenders get a review and make sure that they got fair treatment and a sentence that would be in line with any other action. There were some legit violent offenses that deserved to be punished. I'm hoping that is what Trump does. If he pardons everyone it leaves him regardless of what they did it will give the Dems the ammo they need to highlight the handful of violent folks and puts everyone in the same basket. The goal should be equal and fair treatment under the law.

As for the appointments I think he made a real mistake with Wiles as his Chief of Staff. She is a great campaign manager but she isn't a governance person and she holds serious grudges against anyone associated with DeSantis because he fired her for leaking to the press. That takes out a LOT of talent in the GOP that is very good at executing policy because she is including anyone that supported DeSantis. For instance they are making Bondi as AG who was the AG under Rick Scott not DeSantis, DeSantis and his AG are the ones that have beaten Disney, Soros DAs, and on and on. Bondi wasn't involved in that. Rubio is pretty meh, he's not a RINO but he's got a lot of Neocon in him. He isn't going to take Lapado who would be incredible anywhere from NIH to Surgeon General and is an incredibly smart and savvy speaker to boot and really hard to make into a villain. So they are taking lots of Florida people but the B team, not the people that have made Florida Deep Red. Not taking anyone from Reynolds team either who has made Iowa from a Swing State into double digit Red as well. Lots of Fox hosts instead of people that actually know how to get stuff done so they are likely to have a big learning curve. They also don't have deep benches of people they can bring in to help them like DeSantis and Reynolds have.

I'm more than willing to give Trump tremendous benefit of the doubt and I want him to succeed, there is no choice. I really hope these folks can deliver. It's just very different talking about it vs doing it. In the end even getting it half right is likely enough and 1000x better than the alternative.

So you'd undo a "right" because other unrelated cases got it wrong? That doesn't sound like the party of law and order to me.
