Some of them are good some of them I'm not keen on. I just hope it all works out in the end. Don't get me wrong. I'm absolutely thrilled that he will be back in office but a little cautious about how some of this is going to go. I wish I wasn't so uneasy about it, but I kind of am surprisingly.
I also think there should be a blanket pardon for the J6 people not by case. They were all persecuted and prosecuted unfairly, regardless of crime.
I agreed with DeSanits' policy on J6. All Non Violent offenders get a pardon. Any violent offenders get a review and make sure that they got fair treatment and a sentence that would be in line with any other action. There were some legit violent offenses that deserved to be punished. I'm hoping that is what Trump does. If he pardons everyone it leaves him regardless of what they did it will give the Dems the ammo they need to highlight the handful of violent folks and puts everyone in the same basket. The goal should be equal and fair treatment under the law.
As for the appointments I think he made a real mistake with Wiles as his Chief of Staff. She is a great campaign manager but she isn't a governance person and she holds serious grudges against anyone associated with DeSantis because he fired her for leaking to the press. That takes out a LOT of talent in the GOP that is very good at executing policy because she is including anyone that supported DeSantis. For instance they are making Bondi as AG who was the AG under Rick Scott not DeSantis, DeSantis and his AG are the ones that have beaten Disney, Soros DAs, and on and on. Bondi wasn't involved in that. Rubio is pretty meh, he's not a RINO but he's got a lot of Neocon in him. He isn't going to take Lapado who would be incredible anywhere from NIH to Surgeon General and is an incredibly smart and savvy speaker to boot and really hard to make into a villain. So they are taking lots of Florida people but the B team, not the people that have made Florida Deep Red. Not taking anyone from Reynolds team either who has made Iowa from a Swing State into double digit Red as well. Lots of Fox hosts instead of people that actually know how to get stuff done so they are likely to have a big learning curve. They also don't have deep benches of people they can bring in to help them like DeSantis and Reynolds have.
I'm more than willing to give Trump tremendous benefit of the doubt and I want him to succeed, there is no choice. I really hope these folks can deliver. It's just very different talking about it vs doing it. In the end even getting it half right is likely enough and 1000x better than the alternative.
