Rescind JFK's executive order no. 10988 and repeal Title VII of the Civil Service Reform Act.

These statutes legalized the formation of labor unions for federal employees. I think private unions like the UAW and AFL-CIO or Teamsters are anachronisms but they're wholly legal and separate from government employment however, public sector unions are wholly incompatible with a democratic republic.

They're nothing more than a money laundering scam for leftists. They take taxpayer money to fund political activities which are devoted to leftist causes and fund the election of leftist representatives who then use those campaign funds to get into office and appropriate ever increasing amounts of taxpayer money to increase pay and benefits (with less and less accountability) for government employees. Lather, rinse, and repeat. It's a cycle of corruption. At least with private sector there's a legitimate negotiation on competing interests while public sector unions funding leftist politicians is collusion writ large.

EO 10988 & Title VII

This is an excellent, if a little long and wonkish discourse on the subject of how public sector unions are a massive problem but it's a good read: The Trouble With Public Sector Unions

Even FDR, a big union man, was opposed to public sector unions.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Spot on. Public unions should be illegal. They create a huge conflict of interest when union dues go to fund their favored political candidate that will give them the most benefits.

It's a scheme that would make the mafia blush.

I don't recall hearing Trump or any of his proxies decrying public sector unions. Maybe I've missed it but it's a little too detailed on the policy perspective for the typical Trump bluster.

But, if you knock out this leg of the leftist coalition you severely damage their fundraising apparatus and make actual reform/elimination of the bureaucracy possible.

I have a relative who is a federal employee. He has an MS in computer science and works as a cyber security analyst for the DoD.

Oddly enough (/s), his branch is not unionized. They don't need to be - if the DoD doesn't keep up with private industry as best they can, the guys just leave. They can never match salaries, but they have their own separate pay scale, tons of benefits like a shorter work week, more holidays, and a real pension.

Lesson is - the only federal employees who need a union are those that don't have marketable skills.
