There is nothing to the case against Gaetz or he would've been put through the justice system which has shown to be a punishment by itself (see Flynn).

Depending on what the report really demonstrates (not "claims") Gaetz was a fool to resign. The Bill Clinton effect shows his voters might have overlooked whatever it was in return for keeping him going. From such a position, he might be able to influence some of the CR nonsense fulfilling his warnings even now.
