Los Angeles becomes the latest sanctuary city, refusing to cooperate with federal immigration policy.

I hope the feds are able to eliminate federal funding to sanctuary cities. All of it.

If you don't help carry the hay, why should you get to feed at the trough?

Will probably require legislation. The last time Trump tried it through executive action it largely got squashed by the courts. Hopefully they can pass it through reconciliation with the budget bill where it only requires a majority in the Senate and not 60 votes to bypass a filibuster.

The Trump admin will probably try something like that. And after the first Roundup.. The optics will be so bad they won't do it again. Even though I fully agree that they should.

The feds need to be a lot smarter about it than falling back on the brute force approach.

Example: instead of breaking down doors in the middle of the night to round up illegals, simply wait for them outside in the morning on their way to work and take them into custody. And start with the criminals first instead of the lawn guy who's just trying to make a buck to feed his family. Not saying he doesn't need to go back and get in line the right way, but priorities and optics matter.

Same thing with the cities. Instead of sending in the National Guard, find a legal way to cut off the funds. It's like cutting off the cell phone for a teenager -- it will get results.

Videos of little brown children running around with no shoes on. Because you know that's exactly what the libs will do to manipulate the story. They won't show all the donations coming in, etc. It will be the cold heartless trumpsters causing us and doing this

Or let all the illegals move to the sanctuary cities. They vote for this. Let them deal with the consequences. Focus on everywhere else first and then see how things stand after the cities are overrun.

Most people still get their news via MSM Even if they're getting it online. Because it is the Reuters, AP, NBC, etc. News desks that generate the news that is aggregated and everyone read on their Twitter feeds.

California gets $162.9 billion in federal funds granted to it each year, almost 15% of its overall budget. Start taking it all away.

I agree with this.

But, I say that we just denote that these sanctuary cities are the only cities that are immune from the mass deportation patrols. Tell illegal aliens that if they want to stay in the US, they need to move to either Chicago, San Francisco, Las Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Boston, or NYC.

If about 20 million illegal aliens flood those cities, they may not be sanctuary cities anymore.

Tell the illegals to avoid deportation by going to a sanctuary city.... strip ALL funding... gather illegals in all other parts of country while the locusts devour the sanctuary cities.... then go get them too. But don't restore over 25% of previous funding. Make them hurt.

I'm good with all that, but does any of that infringe on states rights? Or are states rights able to be bypassed when a state refuses to comply with the federal government?

Just start arresting local officials - including every employee "just taking orders" - for harboring illegals. You'll have to pardon the J6 folks to make room for them, but I think we also have some space at Gitmo. You'll get some hand wringing but they will start looking for ways to virtue signal while still cooperating with Feds.

This is the way.

Herd the illegals to the sanctuary cities. Flood those cities with illiterate, non english speaking, unskilled and the lazy feeding off of the taxpayers. Bankrupt the sanctuary cities. Send their crime rates through the roof and generally make those cities unlivable for the people that voted for this stupidity.

This won't happen and it probably shouldn't. It's just not a good look. But then you have to start cutting the purse strings to LA. There has to be some pain if they're not going to cooperate.

The other 50% get sent to sanctuary cities.

Also announce there will be no deportation action in any of those cities, that will get others to self-deport themselves to those places.

Cut fed funding by 100%.

I can't imagine how the Nat Guard would be helpful in rounding up illegals in cities. I assume they will be used to guard the borders and round them up there. Zero chance this Admin wants the optics of uniformed troops kicking a door in looking for someone.

This and a few high profile cases of employers going to prison for hiring illegals discourages others from hiring them.

I do not agree with the national guard approach. Just let Trump refuse federal monies.

The optics of troops moving in to "regulate" plays into the enemy's narrative. We worked hard to earn voters and they came to us over the illegal immigration issue. They will not even notice dollars missing from the state but they will not like soldiers infiltrating their homes and neither would we.
