I remember seeing an interview with an African American lady in Mississippi after they raided a chicken plant in MS during the first Trump Administration. She used to work at that chicken plant but was laid off and then the company dropped wages down from something like $15/hr to $10/hr and hired a bunch of illegals.

She said after the raid, the company started hiring again and increased wages to $14/hour. At that rate she was thinking of going back to work there and would definitely do it if they got up to $16.

(Numbers might be slightly off, but that was the gist of it).

Put US citizens back to work (cut welfare) and eliminate costs of a growing underclass of illegals is win-win.

There's a reason wages for African Americans rose under Trump 1.0 for the first time in ages.

It will take the assets of the military to roundup the 35 million illegals Biden has let in and funded with our tax payer money. They should go door to door if they have to. They all have to go back. No compromises or excuses.

It's time to define the term "mass deportations". I think it means many different things ranging from a nationwide sweep of any illegal with criminal record, and ripping kids out of houses like Elian Gonzalez.

My guess is it ends up more like Obama "mass deportations."

I'm all for this but I keep thinking about the logistics of removing illegals from the USA. It's mind boggling!

First, we're talking millions folks. It will take years to remove that many. Do you fly charters to all the different countries? That is probably cheaper than the cost of the welfare burden, etc, that is placed on society, but the sheer number of flights is mind boggling.

Second, and what I really wonder about is, what if the Venezuela's won't take them back. What happens then?

Got to start somewhere! Let's roll!!

Its funny that liberals scream about "equity" all the time...at least when it comes to women and black people.

U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Presence Requirement

Quote:

NOTE: If you have recently applied for an original or renewal of a Limited-Term Texas driver license or identification card and your period of lawful presence required additional verification, visit our License Eligibility page to determine if the Department has received a response from DHS.

To reduce the risk of identity theft, enhance security and protect the integrity of the licensing process, individuals must present one document from the appropriate category below to verify their U.S. citizenship or lawful presence status.

When at the driver license office, the license and permit specialist will verify the period of lawful presence with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). A driver license or ID card cannot be issued until the period of lawful presence is verified by DHS. If the specialist is unable to immediately verify the information electronically, an additional verification is initiated and the individual will be given instructions on what to do next.

Please see the Verifying Lawful Presence guide for more information on the different immigration statuses, whether or not each group is eligible for a driver license or ID card and the specific documents needed to apply.

NOTE: The "Verifying Lawful Presence" guide is for informational purposes only and does not ensure a driver license or ID card will be issued. Select the following link to download more information on How to Complete Lawful Presence Verification.

Licenses and ID Cards

In addition to lawful presence, individuals must meet other requirements to obtain a Texas driver license or ID card.

Applicants who are not a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee or asylee may be eligible for a non-domicile commercial driver license.

Renewals

Due to DHS verification processing time, applicants are encouraged to renew their driver license or ID card at least thirty days prior to expiration.
Acceptable Documents

To determine what documents will be accepted to verify citizenship or lawful presence status, please review the categories below.

NOTE: A brochure listing all of the following documents is available for download.

U.S. Citizens

Individuals who are U.S. citizens can present one of the following documents, which may require verification through DHS.

  • Valid, unexpired U.S. passport book or U.S. passport card
  • Original or certified copy of a birth certificate issued by a State Bureau of Vital Statistics or equivalent agency from a U.S. territory, or District of Columbia
    • Laminated copies are not accepted
    • No photocopies can be accepted
  • Original or certified copy of Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) (Form FS-240) or Certificate of Report of Birth (DS-1350 or FS-545) issued by the U.S. Department of State
  • U.S. Citizenship Certificate or Certificate of Naturalization with identifiable photo (N-550, N-560, N-561, N-570 or N-578)
  • U.S. Citizen identification card (Form I-179 or I-197)

NOTE: Because Puerto Rican statute provides that Puerto Rican birth certificates issued before July 1, 2010 are no longer valid, the Department cannot recognize these birth certificates as proof of identification or lawful presence.

U.S. Nationals, Lawful Permanent Residents, Refugees and Asylees
Individuals who are U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees or asylees can present one of the following documents for verification through DHS. (Expired documents may be accepted unless otherwise noted.)

  • Valid, unexpired U.S. passport book or U.S. passport card stating, "THE BEARER IS A UNITED STATES NATIONAL AND NOT A UNITED STATES CITIZEN" on the last page
  • Valid, unexpired Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551)
  • Machine Readable Immigrant Visa with temporary I-551 language and ADIT stamp
  • Valid, unexpired foreign passport, visa (Visa may be valid or expired) with valid I-94 (the visa requirement may be waived in the case of Parolees, the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia and certain Canadian non-immigrants)
  • Valid, unexpired employment authorization document (EAD), (I-766)

Which likely leads to immigration reform, giving both sides of the aisle something they want. It's a win win for deportation.
We don't need immigration reform. We need to follow the laws we already have.

Our immigration system allows for 1 million immigrants a year legally. Hussein and Biden have allowed at least 20 times that number. We have no shortage.
Disagree. Need to define asylum back to it's original meaning - danger to life, persecution, etc. NOT economic struggles. Need to somehow codify or require those who are seeking asylum to stay in the first "safe" country they come to, not continue their trek to US. (I freely admit I don't know how to do that one.)

Well, I agree with this. And end birth right citizenship and chain migration. But the status quo wouldn't be terrible if we actually followed the law.

This is such a lame attempt at an excuse.
Fifty years ago a work visa program was created to allow people into the country to help pick crops.

It can be done legally. Or do you just prefer using illegals so farms don't have to follow the law?

I'm certainly not opposed to the effort, but I think you guys who expect 10% of the population to be deported are going to be sorely disappointed.

What I expect will happen is that we'll have deportations of some criminals and maybe some easy targets and the visible effort will significantly but not completely stop new invaders and cause some to voluntarily go back, and then 4 years from now or as soon as the next Dem is president the doors will be opened again at double speed to catch up.

We've netted adding some illegals with every president in memory. Biden was the worst but we've not ever really had a defended border. If we end up simply netting zero new illegals over the next four years it'll be a near miracle.

She was very clear on what wage rate the company would have to pay to make working worth her while - 100%.
I hear from lots of companies that their biggest competition for labor is not other companies - it's welfare. And poor people are actually pretty decent accidental economists.

Just a couple of thoughts:
1. State guards are not subject to Posse Comitatus.
2. The National Guard, as long as it is not under direct federal control, is not subject to Posse Comitatus.

If Trump incentivizes state cooperation (i.e., removes federal funding) he could indirectly use State Guards and the National Guard without challenging PCA. This of course would most likely only work in red states.

Last I checked the law was not to come into another country illegally. Just because we've ignored that for decades doesn't change the fact it is a law. Dems want to fight with lawfare to keep from enforcing the law then its lawfare you have to give back.

Hope they surround Colony Ridge as well as many other similar places and deport by the 100s of thousands at a time.
And what should the people who live there legally do?
Continue about their business? Please explain the question further. If someone is here legally then......

they stay.
We're surrounding areas and looking for illegal immigrants. How do we find these people? Just stop people we believe look like them?

I would think that someone who is here legally would gladly prove that they are here legally. They don't like Biden's mass illegal immigration either.

590 am in Austin had a caller last week who said that he would gladly get deported and start over legally if his legal children got to stay. I hooe that those are the lowest priority for deportation and are given a path to legality. I hope that the deportation program goes after the criminals with the fullest force to get them out of the country. They have to go back.
I'm a natural-born citizen of this country and I'll be damned if I'm showing my papers for no reason.

Could you please cite to me in the Constitution where it states you are allowed anonymity up to and including when suspected in criminal activity? Thanks to the doors being wide ass open for decades now, everyone ought to be suspect of entering illegally, myself included. That's the unfornate position we find ourselves in now. Should it be case? Absolutely not. Do I like it? Hell no. But I don't have any issue showing birth cert, passport, whatever, to prove I have a right to be in this country.

The 4th Amendment.

What crime am I suspected of committing? What evidence do you have that leads you to believe I've committed or will be committing a crime?

It's scary how little some of you think of the Constitution when it's your pet project being implemented.

I would assume they will be asked to prove their identity, as is anyone detained as suspect in criminal activity. I'm not sure that qualifies as "unreasonable" search. There is a border exception to the 4th amendment, anyways, and as stated in my original post, thanks to our lack of enforcement in the first place, the border isn't established as it should be.

And when they detain you for longer than you like and ask you for your ID? All of a sudden we're putting our faith in law enforcement officers being reasonable.
