I was up and headed to campus to pull tickets. No cellphone, so I found out later my mom was freaking out about not being able to reach me at home later that morning. I was surprised because I was off campus and didn't work on Bonfire that year, but you're right, I'm sure lots of parents were desperate for news that morning.

Think it was 4AM when WTAW local news staff came on the air after Coast to Coast ended and I heard there had been an accident and were advised to stay away from University Blvd.

2:42 AM now

My freshman year, I remember people running through the dorm yelling to get up and go help. Wasn't much we could do. Terrible day.

Prayers for the families and all those injured and affected.

Remember being woken up that stack had fallen. No thought of injuries and deaths at first...groggily thought about rebuild. Then it hit that there were serious injuries. Band staff called a quick muster and made sure all were accounted for. We went to stack to see if we could help. Was already locked down, had to borrow a cell phone to call my folks and let them know I was ok. Everything runs together.
