Finally filed this. Fairly easy and took about 15 minutes to complete once I had the information needed from others.

Still do not see what value this provides other than more big government policing the good guys.

NFIB filed a suit on behalf of Texas Top Cop Shop llc. A district judge in TX ruled the BOI unconstitutional today. Probably isn't over, but I would hold off for a few weeks if I were you.

Just remember that Tx is community property state and you should include spouse information when you do file. It doesn't take long to file with Fincen, and I would gather the info and wait until today's ruling shakes out before filing.

We filed ours last month finally. Our business is based in North Dakota with 3 partners. Was very easy as I filed the paperwork through our payroll provider.

We put it off as long as we thought that we could. I don't understand the reasoning behind it but we didn't want the big daily fine if we didn't get it done.

I had been holding out to see if something happened, but clock was running out.

End of the day, they already have every piece of the information that I had to file anyways....

This just seemed like a solution looking for a problem.

I did not read that spouses had to be added for corporations. Their definition is below:

If your company is a reporting company, your next step is to identify its beneficial owners.

A beneficial owner is any individual who, directly or indirectly:

Exercises substantial control over a reporting company;

OR

Owns or controls at least 25 percent of the ownership interests of a reporting company.

They have solutions looking for problems.

Texas is one of several community property states. It isn't spelled out in the instructions for BOI, but in those community property states the spouses should file as well.

Yes. This one ends it for everyone. For now. It will probably be overturned at some point. Keep your eyes on this one.

willl be interesting what position the new admin takes. Trump initially vetoed the NDAA (with no mention of this provision being included). Of course, the CTA was written by a dem and overwhelmingly supported by dems in the house (surprisingly, Crenshaw voted against it; he has a little love of government power in him) before initially dying before being revived by being included in the NDAA.

yep - everybody just starts adding trash they want and then we get a judge that writes: "Nestled between the 1,482 pages of the NDAA lays the CTA". Congress is terrible at its job of being in charge of the purse and drafting laws (which they give all that power to the three letter agencies; luckily USSC has reined in some of that executive power by overturning Chevron)
