"If John Thune or John Cornyn get control of the Senate, like Mitch McConnell did, we're not going to have a Trump Cabinet," Navarro said. He also said having one of those men as majority leader threatens the productivity of the Senate in a Trump term. "There's 4,000 appointments that have to be fulfilled. A thousand of those are Senate-confirmed … and four years of Mitch McConnell, who was just the puppeteer for Thune and Cornyn, we didn't get half of those," Navarro told NewsNation's Dan Abrams on Tuesday. "And it took 100 days to get 80 percent of the Trump Cabinet. Just the secretaries. We didn't get our deputies, undersecretaries, assistants. And it's a big deal, Dan," he fumed

Thune should think long and hard before he goes this route.

Trump isn't a political novice any longer. He has an overwhelming mandate from the American public this time. He also has the richest guy in the world ready to primary any Republican that gets in his way.

Stand in the way at your own risk, but Americans are in no mood for the same old Washington BS.

It's almost like our founders intended for there to be some kind of balance so no one person could just run rampant on whatever they wanted.

NEW: Reporter asks Rep. Thomas Massie about Trump's nomination of Matt Gaetz for Attorney General.

Reporter: Will he be confirmed by the Senate?

Massie: "Doesn't need to... we recess. He's the Attorney General. Suck it up."

They also never intended for the federal government to be so gigantic and bloated as to take the better part of a year to get appointments approved.

That being the case, I think they'd agree that the compromise is justified. Republicans have power, we do what we want. The majority of the Senate agrees (at least the ones who represent their constituents) as indicated by Massie's comment.
