Nothing will prevent Paxton from doing a great job! If the baggage didn't deter him as Texas attorney general, there's no reason to think it will deter him as attorney general of the United States!

Here's my concern about Paxton's nomination for AG and that hinges on who is Senate Majority Leader.

My understanding is there is no love lost between Paxton and Cornyn. Confirmation scheduling could become an issue if it's Cornyn.

I mean…Paxton'a baggage is pretty light compared to many in DC so maybe it's best for Texas to get a fresh start. With Biden gone, he's of better use in DC.

Not very excited about this choice. Paxton is a bull in a china shop. Need someone who runs a tight ship and is extremely intelligent because in order to take down the folks in the DOJ and FBI you better be really, really smart or else they will Jeff Sessions you.
