There's a few threads on the implications of mass deportations. This thread is to submit your idea of dealing with it.
Here's what I would do:
1. Immediately deport any and all immigrants in jail, or that have been convicted of criminal offenses in the USA or in their country of origin
2. Immediately deport any and all immigrants who are affiliated with any criminal gangs, whether or not they've committed any criminal acts in the USA
3. Immediately deport any visa overstays
4. End TPS for select immigrants
5. Refined what amnesty means to only include political harm. Financial, family, gang, climate and other such similar claims should not be granted amnesty.
6. Create a system to deal the immigrants here in good standing (outside of illegal entry)
- companies who want/need to employ immigrant labor must create a roster defining exactly what their need is and how many people they need. It would be similar to a military mtoe. This roster would be approved by a govt agency such as ice
-allow those immigrants already in USA and without any legal issue to submit an application to stay. They must already be employed. Agreeing to stay is conditional to the following- must pay income tax, cannot vote, cannot bring family, no child born in usa is automatically granted citizenship, must return to country of origin every three years, no access to govt benefits, must have health insurance, whether that be personally bought or through work, zero tolerance law break policy(you break the law, you got home), remittance tax, no path to permanent citizenship, loss of job means one must return to country of origin
7. Develop said system in year 1, take applications in year 2, execute decisions in year 3.
All those accepted into program stay, all those rejected are deported ASAP.
8. Develop work application for those wanting to come work in the usa that would be used to select workers to fill company rosters.
9. Set a minimum number of years one must work and fulfill standards before citizenship is obtainable. Something like 12 or 15 years.
10. Companies using immigrant labor will pay a per person fee to help pay for system.
I think this is a good start to a comprehensive plan on how to deal with who is here now. What are yalls ideas?
