Assuming she is confirmed as Ambassador to the UN, is her district safe for Republicans in a special election?

I'm still trying to figure out if this is a good move for her. It's a high profile position, but when was the last time we cared about what the U.N. did?

Daniel Horowitz nailed it.

Stefanik is the most liberal Republican member of the House.

Trump did great by appointing her to a position that has nothing to do with domestic policy.

Hopefully that special election happens soon because this district is pretty solidly Republican.

I'm just wondering if this move could put Trump's agenda at risk. Controlling the House is EVERYTHING right now.

Why risk a majority?

It seems there's still races to call. Estimated 222/221. No harm in peeling off a rino that will likely go to another R.

"Likely" is the genesis of my concern.

It's way too tight to give up a seat. Not all Rs will vote with Trump

She was one of his biggest supporters through the impeachment trials. I'm assuming that has more to do with it.

House seats simply go empty until replaced, they don't put in a replacement.

Her District is R+9 so pretty safe.

This is a big concern. Even if those special elections end up electing republicans, it will be months before the elections are decided and we will go that period of time with 2 fewer votes in the already very tight house.
