Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't find another county that netted more Republican votes (Reddest by net # R, not %). As of 11/6, with over 95% of votes counted, there is a net of 139,684 more Republican votes than Democratic votes. Sounds like a utopia!

That's great. I'll stick with my rural county that voted 89% for Trump.

Check out Lavaca County 88%, DeWitt at 83%, and several around the area in the 80%'s. Good place to be.

For the most Republican County, that's not even close.

There are often counties in the Panhandle, including in this election, that exceeded 90% Republican.

Going across the northernmost five counties in Texas:
Dallam: 88.8%
Sherman: 91.4%
Hansford: 92.2%
Ochiltree: 90.5% (this is usually the number one county in the nation)
Lipscomb: 89.3%

The most Republican county that I know of this election was Roberts County at 96%.

There are often individual precincts around the Panhandle that are 100%.

As someone who lives in Montgomery County. Voting this election was very easy and painless. Commissioners, Sheriff, Constable and most all of the Judges and D.A. were all running unopposed and were all Republican.

Hope it stays like this for years to come.

When people call Moco the most Republican county, they mean of the major metro areas of the USA. There's no other county that dumps several hundred thousand votes and has an R+50 ish split

Roberts County (NE of Amarillo) at 96% Republican votes is the reddest in TX, followed by King County (east of Lubbock) at 95.6% R.

Gaines county was 90% as well last I checked... and really the whole set of counties on New Mexico border were upwards of 88% for Trump.

Cool site. Interesting to see Dem margin in city counties:

Houston/Harris: Dems by 5%
SA/Bexar: Dems by 10%
vs
Dallas: Dems by 32%
Austin/Travis: Dems by 39%

Because of this the Houston metro area (main county plus surrounding counties) altogether is easily red, unlike DFW and Austin.

The problem with this is Dems start running as Repubs in primaries because they realize it is the only way to get elected. This moves the needle to the left.

Kids out of the house. These stats are very applicable to my future decisions.

Worked some block walking for a campaign primary. Hit some streets in some neighboring neighborhoods. Couple of streets, all the people the opened the door were conservatives, and the ones that did not, most had American flags, TAMU car decals and catholic school signs, etc. Told the wife, we needed to move to these streets.

Montgomery was one area. Closer to TAMU as well.

Zero opposition isn't good all the time. MoCo brought us the dinosaur theme park boondoggle several years ago. They allowed developers to clear-cut wetlands with no detention and flooded neighborhoods next door during Imelda. They allow sand mining operations to skirt their taxes with ag exemptions. It's a different kind of corruption than Harris County, but they both have some animals that are more equal than others.

I lived in MoCo for 21 yrs . It was a good place to live. Moved out to Walker County 2-1/2 yrs ago and am loving it as well. MoCo was just getting too crowded for me and the politics are drifting left with the mass immigration from Harris Co and elsewhere.

I've lived in The Woodlands since 1992. Curious how it compares to all US counties. Is MoCo TX the largest net positive # Republican votes in the nation?

As far as large urban areas go, Houston is one of the least solid blue. Part of it is probably Texas. People aren't as crazy blue as in other Urban parts of the nation. But another very big factor is the geographic size of Harris County. Unlike a lot of urban cities around the country, a lot of the redder suburbs are still in Harris County. In places like Dallas and San Antonio, the suburbs are actually in the next counties over. This doesn't really explain why Moco is as red as it is, but it does explain a lot of why Houston/Harris County is not as blue as other big cities. This is from guy who has spent a lot of time driving from Katy to Tomball to Kingwood to clear lake, trying to find Harris County Republicans to vote for him

This is 100% the reason we only looked at houses in Montgomery when we were moving. There were nicer houses across the bridge in Tomball that we honestly didn't consider because Harris has gone off the rails with the judges

The mighty MoCo! Home of The Woodlands, Magnolia, Montgomery, Conroe, etc. I lived there 11 years. I'm still in a red county, but I do go back to The Woodlands to go shopping. I saw lots of growth in those 11 years.

And insurance costs are cheaper. In Harris you have to get flood insurance too.

MoCo has been red for years. It's one of the reasons we have lived here for over 20 years. As a previous poster stated, it was pretty easy to vote local because all of them were Republicans running unopposed.

But, the one-eyed pirate....we need to primary him the next round.
