Don't think the Veep gets protection. I specifically remember Gore and Cheney not getting it. I know Cheney drives around in his own truck with a Darth Vader head on the trailer hitch.

I wonder if a former Veep may get protection if there is a specific threat.

According to Dan Quayle, he got a lite version for about 6 months and was then told to contact them if something came up.

That SHOULD be about it.

I saw a guy earlier with a broom, dust one thing off and then leave.

Why is this taking so long?

This Kamala Harris concession speech was scheduled for 3:00 and it is now 3:17. All you can see are staff members adjusting the American flags and checking the microphones. All of this preparation should have been done well before the schedule start of the speech.
