I know this scholar personally, smart guy, and this paper has gotten him in a lot of trouble - but not the kind you would think. He regularly gets cold calls and random people representing dictators from third world countries at his office to assist them with vote suppression.

Whoever is out there in the rain, regardless of size, deserves a little extra respect for doing whatever it takes to do their civic duty.
