I'm not a very big fan, and would rather have Rubio or DeSantis as the nominee. But you have to go way way back (further than my 65 years) to find a sitting Vice President that sought but was denied the nomination. It would have to be an incredible turn of events for Vance to not be the nominee. He may step aside, but if he wants it, it is his.

He is still shiftless and slow.

Midterms are known to go against the party in power.

Predicting what has very commonly happened as some sort of mandate is a stretch.
