Migration of conservatives?

Republican inroads into latino vote?

Successful R leadership?

They cleaned up the voting shenanigans with the marxist county clerks and upped their voting security. Also streamlined everything so they do not have a repeat of 2000

Successful R leadership and they didn't want to be the laughingstock of the country after the 2000 election.

Cleaner elections led to more competent leadership. Competent leadership led more people to continue to vote GOP.

It happened like this...

Elections are when people find out what politicians stand for, and politicians find out what people will fall for.

sam - All three of those are primary culprits.

I remember seeing an article that less than 1/3 of all new Florida residents are Democrats.

Cuban and Venezuelan immigrant vote has swung to the GOP massively the last 20 years.

But effective GOP ground game and reliable elections that offer very little opportunity for fraud also help.

Pensacola used to be a solidly blue enclave in the panhandle.

But the GOP has eroded the Dem vote in the city itself so much that only the most central precincts are left for the Dems. The black areas and the areas where the majority of the homosexuals live are all they have left.

In the congressional race for that area, Gay Valimont is going to be humiliated by Matt Gaetz and the Escambia County Board may have only 1 Democrat left at the end of this cycle. The GOP was able to flip control of the Escambia School Board in 2023 and subsequently FIRED the Leftist Superintendent.

So how do we do those things in Texas?

Our migration population votes more Democrat?

Our vote integrity lacking?

Our leadership - why is it so lacking?

And to think, DeSantis barely won his first election against a guy who was later found passed out in a hotel room high on drugs after hiring a male prostitute.

Broward County Brenda Snipes resigned

26000 more people voted for the governor then the senate

this practice limited the candidates that could challenge the results

Her long drawn out counts, not exactly sure what she was doing but she'd been doing it a while

I believe she was the one that was finding footlocker of ballots in storage units. My memory is fuzzy on that but I think that got the ball rolling on her ouster

Remember how you'd hear about Broward County in 2000, 2012, and 2016 the same way we hear about Loudon, Harris, Maricopa, etc today? Always late always large data dumps, etc.

Florida cut that crap out for good and the Dems haven't won a statewide election since.

Gay Valimont couldn't even bring herself to admit she was running as a democrat, and that includes campaign signs and the website.

She is trying to play to the military and sympathy vote here. I hope you're right, and she's utterly humiliated in a landslide for Gaetz.

Migration,

DeSantis really good leadership and cleaning up voting shenanigans in South Florida.

The democrat who ran against DeSantis was found naked and OD'd in a hotel room with a gay stripper shortly after losing the election (crazy to think FL could have elected that guy).

Lots of older retired folks that are more traditional and don't like weed, abortions, or drag queens.

I don't think anything OTHER than this changed.

There's no telling how many elections, local, stated, and federal, they stole.

Bullcrap. As a Floridian, I can tell you the Republican party has done a fantastic job on being vocal and outreach to voters. But I'm 100% convinced that really it was the Republican leadership, 99% DeSantis, during Covid that caused people to open their eyes to the difference between Rep leadership vs Dem leadership. How we were able to live during Covid versus what we saw going on in other states drove it home that we better shore up the slim Rep majority we had in our state and local governance at that time.

Desantis wins his first term by a slim margin and Dems took some important offices. His second election was won in a bloodbath that included almost every down ballot office. He has earned his due respect in this success

Indeed he does. DeSantis fan but wasn't sure it was his time right now. Future POTUS run? Sign me up. That includes a primary against Vance. I want actual primaries in 2028. Every candidate has to make their cases to be the nominee.

Send a cadre of folks from Texas to Florida to watch everything DeSantis does from an organizational standpoint, it's insanely comprehensive. Then implement it here. His program to register Republican voters is a great start, he has flipped all but 3 or 4 counties in the state now. He doesn't stop, he is completely irradicating the Democrat Party in Florida.

Florida resident here. Desantis has been a leader in numerous issues, from covid, critical race theory, men in girls sports, Disney, funding police, anti-sanctuary city laws, and more.

His hurricane response is so fast and effective it would make the Chick-fil-a drive thru blush.

It would be impossible to live here without appreciating his leadership, and knowing a Democrat alternative would be a disaster for freedom and common sense.

Credit DeSantis, but it was cleaning up the election boards in Dade & Broward counties. They were the original blueprint for the current dem cheating method.
