The most expensive airplane in the world being used to launch an attack on one of the poorest countries world.

Also worth noting that Houthis are engaged in privateering which was largely eradicated by treaty in 1856.

Now in 2024, privateering is back, and instead of sending Jefferson's gunboats we sent a B-2 bomber.

The US Marines first mission was to fight privateers, and somehow we still fighting that battle today against the same people.

So no progress has been made on that front. Unbelievable to think about.

The B-2 was used for a reason. The targets were five deeply fortified bunkers which were holding stores of missiles and drones. The B-2 can carry the GBU-57, a 37,000 pound massive ordinance bunker buster bomb.

The Iranians have provided the Houthis with decent air defense systems that have brought down at least nine Reaper drones.

The dead ones won't, and they won't be shooting those missiles that went "Boom!" tonight. When the administration does nothing, folks whine, and they finally do something right they whine.

The Military-Industrial Complex is just dying for another war. It's great for business and money laundering.

This question needs to be answered immediately. Is it generals in the field? Generals in DC? Obama? Biden? Harris?

WHO IS ORDERING THESE STRIKES?!

This is NOT how our country was designed. We have someone leading US into a new war without any oversight, without any accountability, without being elected.

This should be a massive story and question.

Will it? No.

What would you suggest we do about them?

No one has cared enough to hold a president accountable since 9/11. I would even go back and say possibly longer but after 9/11 it just became accepted

You paint a vivid picture. Consider the advancements in American society over that arc of time, and compare it with the advancements of their society. Makes you think.

So for those complaining about the MIC, what should be done about the Houthis?
If you say you hate the state of politics in this nation and you don't get involved in it, you obviously don't hate the state of politics in this nation.

Weird thread. Houthis have terrorized international shipping lanes, begging for this fight. America got the 'privilege' to send huge amounts of military power to the red sea, act as sitting ducks deflecting ballistic missiles and drones, and still couldn't secure the shipping lanes via escort missions. Iran/Houthis didn't get the intended message that if they kept it up they'd get smoked. Just kept poking the bear knowing that america is fighting with a hand tied behind its back.

Israel gets hit once and they go scorched earth on their whole port. Iran openly sends rockets to Israel, Israel knocks them down. America plays with the softest of gloves against Iran and is actively trying to tell Israel how to wage war against an enemy that would send a nuclear ICBM to Israel with full knowledge they'd all die nuclear retaliation.

Looks like america finally had enough. Houthis aren't staying within their borders and a cruise missile splashed down a couple hundred meters from a US aircraft carrier undetected yesterday. Looks like the military said, 'Okay-Play time is over.'

Houthis generally just had to abide by 'don't touch my boats' rule of law and they could do whatever they want within their own borders.

Is it a tragic loss of life? Yes. Is it the most obvious game of FAFO? Also yes.

It's a message to the US people. We will get you into another war. Send your sons and daughters to be maimed and killed while pump war stocks.

This strike is hedging a Trump victory.

Houthis need to stop attacking shipping. We aren't invading Yemen. You're being ridiculous.

Ummm, except Trump is very anti-war.

He's not opposed to retaliation, but he is anti-war.

Its always funny to watch the "trends" on F16 - its like some of you'll don't think for yourself but rather just spout whatever popular political movement is going on at the time by whatever party you side with.

The Houthis have been attacking shipping in open waters for quite some time now - both US naval ships and others. Its about damned time we hit them back hard.

Sitting back and letting a bunch of terrorists terrorize the world like that is just inviting more of the same in the future. Nobody wants war, but we didn't start this.

We could also just deport every American who uses those drugs to Mexico and problem solved. Plus we get rid of all the worthless junkies. Win-win.

Judge them by their fruits. They gave Iran BILLIONS. If they cared about curtailing Iran they never would have done that.

No they a creating a problem then providing a solution via war.

I'm being ridiculous? Wake up bro. We have been bombing so many countries and people for how many decades?

No sir you are the one being ridiculous turning a blind eye to what is obvious at this point.
