Sure. But they aren't running for VP and taking photo ops trying to fool a demographic they are sorely missing. Besides, I don't think many are taking this as a serious criticism, it's more an opportunity to make fun.

Its clear to me, a guy who uses a shotgun weekly, that this guy hasn't spent much time with firearms in general or shotguns in particular.

The VP will probably never need to shoot a shotgun in his official duties nor will his knowledge of shotguns probably ever be important for him in the next four years.

Its important because his campaign is trying to deceive people about who he is.

Honestly, that is a skill I would very much like to have.

Your hand stays on the grip until you get ready to shoulder a shotgun, you shouldn't even think about putting a finger near the triggerguard until you push the safety to fire. Anyone think those game vests have ever seen the field before? Those things just walked out of the store, they probably still have the tags on them so they can be returned after the photo shoot.

Upland hunter perspective (F'ing hate this guy but...) Click noise from A400 was unloading magazine tube which is awkward even if you have done it a thousand times. IMO he kept shotgun safely pointed away from people.
I don't think he had his index finger wrapped around the trigger either.

Staged video with photographers in front he kept gun pointing skyward in a safe direction and looked uncomfortable. Probably because of photographers in front of him. Definitely a photo-op moment. They didn't show any pen raised birds being shot or and post-kill pictures so who knows what actually happened.

I can't fault Tampon Tim on these grounds, but he is a progressive lib dewsh of the highest order regardless.

Agreed 100%. I disagree with Waltz's political stances; however, if you're experienced with the A400 platform, you can tell he's unloading the gun from the sound it is making.

I cycle 500+ rounds yearly through my A400 during duck season and can admit I fumble around when unloading it.

I used to shoot a ton of trap with my 30" A400 Xcel. The A400 Xcel is a great all-around gun for Trap, Clays, Skeet, and Hunting. Shooting Trap doesn't mean you're buying a dedicated Trap gun. Outside of ultra competitive Trap shooters there's no reason to

Of course he doesn't. I have a Beretta A300 Outlander. It loads the same way as a 400. I can load three shells in 5 seconds with a small roll from right to left to expose the ejection port. I assume the 400 unloads the same as the 300. I can unload three shells in 5 seconds with the same orientation. Press the shell carrier up, press the bolt release button, shell pops into my hand and is removed. Do it again for second shell. Final shell: press the carrier release button, pull charging handle, third shell in chamber is ejected. It's amazing to me me to see all these posts from those who claim to be hunters who obviously don't seem to know how to handle their guns.

No worries, if the shot gun goes off, accidentally, then he can play women's sports in Minnesota.
