2 or 3 commercials per local news segment, insane amount of money being spent by someone. He has become someone's golden boy.

Ton of out of state money being poured into his campaign

Should honestly be illegal for someone in NY or Cal to interfere in Texas elections

Totally agree, but at least they are wasting their money in Texas and not using it somewhere else where it may do some good.

In case his marketing team reads this. Here are my takeaways from months of Allred commercials:
  • Played Football at Baylor, married to a white woman, mom was a single white woman
  • Texas GOP is really bad for women who need "health care" where "health care" == Abortion
  • Ted Cruz went to Cancun during the February 2021 snowstorm

It's amazing the money spent on a temporary job of service that pays 150k per year.

You think the majority of that Ukraine money the government stole from you was actually for Ukraine?

The nice thing about living in a predominantly red North Texas county? No Colin Allred ads!

If I could snap my fingers and fix politics this is one that would be at the top of my list. State wide offices couldn't accept out of state money and representatives couldn't take money from outside their district. I'd also eliminate campaign contributions from businesses.

I never understood why people were upset that Cruz went to Cancun. It was a preplanned trip and why should he have to forfeit it? I would have done the same in his position. What's a Senator going to do, keep the state from icing over?

One more for your list, if you please:

- All the tough-talking Hispanic law enforcement officers down on the Texas border want Allred to win because they know he'll slam that border shut, whereas Cruz is welcoming the 'migrants' in with open arms and a free Dairy Queen dipped cone.

One other observation after watching Allred commercials ad nauseam -- how the hell is Cruz, a United States Senator, responsible for the abortion restrictions passed by the Texas Legislature and signed by Greg Abbott?

And he doesn't put Democrat in his ads. Basically stealing R ideas and running as a moderate.

He won't win but the Texas GOP need to get off their asses and reverse the ride or become Georgia/Arizona

You cannot keep taking Texas for granted and not have outreach campaigns.

Other than the fact he's an ultra liberal far left party line voting loon....

Not that you'd get that from his lying ass.

Just thank all those liberals for donating ad spend to Texas based media and news companies.

Not sure many are Texas based, all three major channels in Houston are owned by out of state media companies, Disney being one owner

Get texas declared a natural disaster. He did that.

I don't understand why he didn't grab a hair drier and try to thaw out all of those natural gas distribution valves. He could have single handedly prevented all of the blackouts. Selfish *****.

It was only planned after ice storm closed the schools. There's nothing a senator could do other than perhaps be making phone calls, which he could do from anywhere.

Practically, it doesn't matter that he went to Cancun. He could have stayed a month and it would not have changed a thing.

As for out of state money, thank heavens for first amendment and citizens United.

Lots of "wise Latinas" on this thread wanting to limit our rights.

The outcomes in Georgia and Pennsylvania are vital for this country. The more money from around the country going there from conservatives the better.

To further your analysis, and I am asking, not making a statement, what is the demo breakdown of women who truly need reproductive "services," compared to the entire registered voting base?

I got banned on another platform for asking why the conversation never speaks to the proactive impact of using protection?

He has many foreign backers as well.

Leo can't trace or stop the dark money being poured into democratic campaigns by the global elites.

This is the exact strategy Osborne is using in marketing up in Nebraska. Basically, outside of communist states, Democrats have to pretend not to be Democrats, never be seen with their POTUS nominee or speak her name, or ever acknowledge they support/plan to vote for Schumer for majority leader if elected.

Alred is closer than I'd like him to be, but this is just going to be a great waste of hollywood/Ukraine "aid" money, happily. Meanwhile, Baldwin might lose her seat up north and PA/MI/WI are where the GOP senate PAC is dumping money, in competitive races they could win, where it might also help Trump at the top.

I'm so old, I remember being flooded with 'bipartisan Beto' ads and that motorcycle riding gal who lived in suburbia and was veteran (who sold it the moment she was crushed by Cornyn). Or our abortion Barbie governor candidate and her tennis shoes for infanticide. Coastal elites are suckers for statewide Texas campaigns with their money. We just have a lot of folks who I think get rattled every time it happens. It's not really unusual at all though.

Comparatively, my biggest surprise is how much the Dems are going to focus senate spending on the AZ seat, where I don't really think Lake is all that competitive, though I think Trump will take the state fairly easily (but narrowly) so maybe that is a coordinated effort on their side.

My change to campaign laws would be to say you cannot spend more on advertising than the salary of the position pays. It makes no logical sense to pay $5 million to get a job that pays $150k.
BMX Bandit

I call him Allblue but you're right, you wouldn't know if from his commercials. NEVER mentions his party affiliation. You know your party sucks when you have to hide it from your voters.
MouthBQ98
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yes, but he is also the incumbent in Texas. I think it could reasonably be presumed that is more widely known, but yes, given how unpopular the parties both are right now and how many "independents" there are, candidates do keep their distance.
BMX Bandit
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It's reasonably presumed Allred is a democrat too.

It's obvious why Allred doesn't want to post his party. But why Cruz?

I can think of several politicians who make this a life-long gig...literally do it until the day they die. Our country would be much better off if this was a temporary job of service.
