They want to bury this so that Trump doesn't get the sympathy vote, and also don't want Routh speaking about what he knows and who he's tied to.

Waiting to read about a venue change to the 1st circuit, so he can have a jury/judge of TDS suffering far leftist Democrat peers. I'm sure Tanya Chutkan would love to dismiss all charges.

It does!

But you can waive that right, as Routh has apparently done .

There is no way in hell this thing makes it to trial. He will certainly get Epstein'd right before the trial starts.

Libs still milking Jan 6th 2021 sympathy while ignoring that our Republican candidate and former President has been the target of an assassination twice in 2 months.

They claim it's because they have to review mountains of evidence. The only way to have that much evidence is if multiple people are involved. If it's a lone gunman, then it's a slam dunk, just go to trial, and lock him up. Feds have a 98+% conviction rate. Surely they can't f*** this one up.

Indefinite delay = any time after November 5th.

You thought there was a chance trial would be before November 5?

The filing states Routh's defense attorneys did not oppose the government's request to indefinitely delay his trial date.

Question... Would the victim have any say in this? Can a victim insist things move quickly or not be slow rolled?

For example, a women is raped and beaten. The system knows the perpetrator is guilty, but the victim will still need to testify. Dragging the trial out for months or even years h harms the victim who is trying to get it all put behind them.

Or a case with elderly witnesses whose marshall death would benefit the defendant.

No, I should have stated there won't be anything before November 5th. An indefinite delay in the trial means in all liklihood no hearings, and certainly no reporting by the media. Everything about this assasination attempt will go into the proverbial black hole until after the election. The left will not let anything that might show Trump in a sympathetic light ever see the light of day during this campaign.

Completely agree with that last sentence, but this is a pretty routine filing and one that is no surprise in this case.

Based on how Cannon handled the Trump documents case, she seems to be amenable to indefinite delays.

How is any one destroying democracy here?

Prosecution moved to classify this as a complex case.
Defendant waived his right to speedy trial.
Judge cannon agrees to it all.

This is really a nothing event.

The cynic in me believes they found connections to people they want to protect.
quote from the article;
  • "Over the past two weeks, the United States has interviewed hundreds of witnesses," prosecutors said in the filing. "It has also executed 13 search warrants in Florida, Hawaii, and North Carolina, and seized hundreds of items of evidence, including multiple electronic devices."
  • Investigators reportedly have more than 100 outstanding subpoena returns in connection with the investigation, the filing states, and they estimate they have "thousands of videos to review" from the large volume of electronic devices seized thus far.

"All videos, still images, text files, and audio files constitute approximately 4,000 terabytes (4 million gigabytes) of digital review to complete," the filing says.
The cynic in me also believes there is a lot of information that will be kept secret or destroyed.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”
