Look at the course description. I know this sort of horse urine has passed as an academic pursuit in recent years, but it isn't.

TAMU also shouldn't offer minors in astrology, to accurately understand how your star sign impacts your love life and future success.

This is a good step.

If these studies cover such things as blood tests, CAT SCAN, MRI, exploratory surgery, and autopsy, I wouldn't think too many people would want to volunteer for them.

Following the Favulty Senate vote in October, I believe. There are several programs being terminated. There was an article in The Battalion today about it.

It was in the battalion and says it is being terminated due to lack of support from the students - in other words it didn't make the university any money. I don't know if the congressman should be taking credit or if the university would've gotten rid of it anyway.

It said the review criteria used was 5 years - has that minor been around for 5 years? I don't think so.

The students who minor in this should be doxxed and never hired. They are all trained in how to sue their employer.

My daughter is a HS junior, and was browsing the degree plans at A&M. Some of those ones in liberal arts were frightening how vague and unstructured they were. It is embarrassing A&M or any other taxpayer supported college can offer such an empty diploma.

As useless as a Hetero studies minor. School should be focused on earning a living..... After school, go play with your acronyms and sexual orientation at the chicken or wherever the kids go now.

All the "studies" are about taxpayer funded ideological indoctrination in critical theories and intersectionality as if it was a religious sect. None of it is academic as much as political and religious and yet the taxpayers fund it and feed a good number of young women into it.

If my memory is correct, Black History studies moved into what had been the Browsing Library in the old MSC about 1972, and I was conflicted at the time.
I mean, if someone wants to study Black History rather than Texas History, I'm fine with that, BUT I ALWAYS THOUGHT THE LEFT WOULD TRY TO USE THEIR VERSION OF HISTORY FOR POLITICS.

I don't see anything wrong with LGBTQ+ as a field of study. I do find the lens in which they choose to study it as unproductive, at best.

This was my thought as well, but if there were very few in the program, there is no need. Well, until the next new faculty members is hired that wants it.

Minors aren't that popular, in general.

Well, if there isn't any interest, as this article proves, then the courses won't make and end up getting dropped. None of them stick around if there isn't money being made.
BTW, I'm curious which degrees you're referencing since the new College of Arts & Sciences has pretty standard departments (Economics, English, Psych, Statistics, Geography, etc). You'd actually have to intently pick one of those departments and then drill down.
I ask this because UG advising needs to be revamped on campus and I agree that many programs, both in and out of the College of A and S have degree plans that are confusing for students. Its also kind of like trying to search for the actual per credit cost of courses. The cost of attendance is vague on TAMU's website...and I think intentionally so.

This won't look good on A&M's application for B1G membership.

Its past time to return to traditional A&M values. If you dont like the values go somewhere else. Dont try to change our school that we love. I'd like a decent university to send my kids to. I'd be willing to bet average student doesn't approve of the leftward shift.
