Keeping a mind closed to obvious evidence is an amazing thing to witness.
The tweet you use as evidence clearly says she left the Capitol (the building) at 11:20. She obviously was at the Capitol (as she claimed) if she left it. Sure, she left before the riot started, but she didn't say she personally fended off rioters.
The tweet also claims she was evacuated at 1:17 PM. A pipe bomb was reported to Capitol Police at 12:49 and the perimeter of the Capitol was overrun at 12:53. Harris, along with others I assume, were evacuated at 1:17. That's about half an hour later, when it was obvious that things could take a turn for the worse quite rapidly.
To keep everyone honest, here are Harris' words from a transcript
Quote:
VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS: I was at the Capitol on January 6th. I was the Vice President-Elect. I was also an acting senator. I was there. And on that day, the president of the United States incited a violent mob to attack our nation's Capitol, to desecrate our nation's Capitol. On that day, 140 law enforcement officers were injured. And some died. And understand, the former president has been indicted and impeached for exactly that reason.
So, Harris was obviously telling the truth.
She was at the Capitol on Jan 6. She was directly affected by the riot.
Some officers died. Officer Sicknick died on Jan 7. Video clearly Officer Sicknick being attacked by being pepper sprayed on Jan 6. Yes, Sicknick died from a stroke, not directly due to his injuries. Did his injuries and associated trauma contribute to the stroke? Experts disagree, which means some believe it was a direct result of the spray, others disagree. Regardless, he died. Two other Capitol Police officers who defended the Capitol on Jan 6 committed suicide. Officer Howard Liebengood took his own life three days after the riots. Eight days later, Officer Jeffrey Smith shot himself on his way to work. He had been on pain killers due to his injuries and killed himself after being ordered to go back to work.
The riot was, without question, a violent encounter between MAGA supporters and Capitol police. There were deaths and injuries on both sides that could have been avoided if the attack had not taken place. While Trump says he told the group to march "peacefully and patriotically," but the fact that some were breaching the outer perimeter of the Capitol 20 minutes before Trump's speach ended shows that at least some of his assembled mob did not get the message.
And Trump has definitely been indicted and impeached for his attempt to overturn the 2020 election. The riot on Jan 6 was a big part of that attempt. In fact, it is doubtful that either the impeachment or indictments would have gone anywhere without the riot.
Now, where are the blatant lies?
