That is hilarious. It reminded me of when the USAF actually tried to change its motto to "Above All" which just happened to be the translation of Uber Alles in German, which was the motto of the Deutsche Luftwaffe.

I enjoyed ribbing my USAF brother over that at the time. When it happened, there were still enough living veterans of the 8th Air Force alive to rake the CSAF and his clown show recruiting & advertising staff over the coals for their ignorance of history. Of course, a few years later my brother returned the favor when it was discovered that Marine Scout Snipers had adopted the SS thunderbolts as an unofficial logo and they all had to go to remedial history class and CMC had to perform acts of public contrition to atone for their sins of ignorance.
