This was pretty well known for awhile but people warning against this were labeled "conspiracy theorists".

The only thing lowering the IQ of our youth is liberals. They gave up teaching and started indoctrinating decades ago. Shameful!

They've been putting a toxin in our water for decades. I can't believe they still allow this.

There has to be a reason the males of society are less masculine than in decades past.

Decreases bone density too. Wrote a paper on this years ago. Fluoride is a toxic byproduct of fertilizer which gave the Industry the expensive problem of disposing of this toxic substance. So, they lobbied to have it added to everyone's drinking water. Problem solved. Europe doesn't do it and has experienced the same decrease in tooth decay as America.

Microplastics bind to estrogen receptors in the body

So our choices are poison tap water with fluoride, or plastic bottled water with microplastics and phytoestrogens.

Puberty has moved from 12-13 to 9-10 in one generation (25 years or less). That's obviously impossible at an evolutionary level so something is causing it

Topical fluoride is proven to help. Drinking fluoride isn't necessary. Just brush your teeth. We're on well water, probably helicopter parent a bit too much when it comes to teeth brushing, and 5 kids in we're at zero cavities.

If public schools spent 5 minutes on making every student brush their teeth, tooth decay would be fought better than fluoride in the drinking water, and IQs would raise. That seems like a win/win

Israel and Germany as well as a few other countries figured this out a few decades ago. They stopped as they also found no benefit for teeth.

Fluoride is good in toothpaste not water.

Your headline can be a bit misleading. The articles you linked state that fluoride at twice the recommended levels lower IQ in children. Does drinking water have twice the recommended levels of fluoride? My MUD uses the recommended levels, but I can't speak for all.

Correlation does not equal causation.

Any very high concentrations of halides will affect the brain. That is one reason you cannot drink sea water.
high salt content cause dehydration which leads to delirium and loss of cognitive functions (lower IQ).

I think a line needs to be drawn here, because the fluroide levels in American drinking water are below this for 99+% of the country...
Quote:

The report said that about 0.6% of the U.S. population about 1.9 million people are on water systems with naturally occurring fluoride levels of 1.5 milligrams or higher.
...while also recognizing that fluoride in drinking water was one of the great advancements of the 20th century.
Quote:

The addition of low levels of fluoride to drinking water has long been considered one of the greatest public health achievements of the last century.
Report also insinuates that this has been suspected by scientists for some time, and that this study was done in countries that struggle with high fluoride leels in drinking water.
Quote:

It summarizes a review of studies, conducted in Canada, China, India, Iran, Pakistan, and Mexico, that concludes that drinking water containing more than 1.5 milligrams of fluoride per liter is consistently associated with lower IQs in kids.
When I stationed in Italy, we were warned not to drink the tap water, because the fluoride levels were so high.

Right. A lot of people will just buzz right on by that fact and start to demonize fluoride, lol.

You have to also consider longevity to exposures and people with weaker systems. A lot of Americans have chronic health issues and their bodies don't detoxic efficiently etc.

Seems a little strange to add stuff to your water that is dangerous at certain levels and just hope 1. There's no compound effects to prolonged exposures, like the course of someone's entire life. 2. The "safe and effective" levels are accurate 3. Thise adding it don't mess up and lastly… 4. Measure risk v rewards. If you want fluoride just use fluoride toothpaste.

There is a significant amount of estrogen in urban tap water, from a variety of sources, including birth control, livestock, plastics, to name a few.

"The government" puts out studies that say that this is and is not a problem, depending on the branch of government, and how much market control that branch can grab for based on the answer in the study.

always drink well filtered water

do not trust bottled water

test your water yourself to verify it is well filtered
